Way too many people mod their trucks in this way and then hardly ever take it off road. It's all for show, these people are trying to feel better about themselves by getting attention and being 100% super cool bro. Fitting in with their crowd while trying to be "different" at the same time? So sad. When did buying unnecessary shiny stuff become a lifestyle? I get discouraged at the amount of time and effort most people put into surface treatments and looking good, while completely ignoring the quality of our characters.
The best part is, most mods will bring down the value of the vehicle! I spend less on my truck, live my life fuller, and get more money come sales time. Win.
But really, who is to say how a person should spend their money? This is just my opinion on the root cause of this widespread social issue. The unfortunate truth is, modifying your vehicle does not make you a better person. Get some counseling, learn a skill, volunteer your time... do something that will actually make it nicer to be you. Then you will feel better about everything, even if you are driving a piece of junk. And you won't feel compelled to wreck a perfectly good truck just to get attention and "be special."
    I vote no.

    No. This nonsense is everywhere.

Idk how they managed to ticket you for that. We only have height restrictions and the tires can’t stick out more than 4” past the widest part of the vehicle not including the mirrors unless you mount marker lights out even with the outer edge of the tires

200 buckaroonies here if you don't have mud flaps and/or your tires stick out past your flares/wheel wells ect. they enforce it pretty hard too.

Equipment violation, I didn't argue because it was better than the speed violation :anonymous:

Interesting about the width, they must've changed that since my aunt lived up there, they failed her inspection on her Ram because when they dropped a quarter down her fencer it struck her tire.

That’s what they do here in BC and it’s strictly enforced. It’s a pretty serious safety issue many people don’t seem to care about.

At an inspection station? Not even part of the inspection here as far as I know. Those have been the width laws here for a long time

My ticket wan on the highway, honestly don't know where, it was 0 dark:30 and I was in the process of moving out of state.

It's been several years since she lived up that way (over 10) so I'm not terribly surprised the laws have changed.

Nope. The black car is bagged. Raise it up to a reasonable drive height and go. The MK2 is on coil overs. Theres a solid inch of ground clearance between the subframe and ground. Both of those cars are probably less practical than the OPs truck. :D

Thanks! It was a fun car. 12v swap, shaved bay, Recaro interior, BBS RS’, typical show car stuff.

That picture is from ‘12 I think. That cars been in pieces since then. I may put it back together one day.

Huh, I dropped my inspectors license years ago. I wonder what their reason is? I don’t have an issue with it with the tires I have now but it’s going to put a real damper on a lot of people around here. When did they make width part of the inspection I don’t remember it being in there becore

Looks gay as hell, it's retarded when you're throwing road debris on your own vehicle and it's an inconsiderate douche move when you're throwing it on other people's vehicle. Well you did ask what we thought of it. :bananadead: Oh, and welcome to the forum.
