I have an opportunity to add a Toyota built supercharger to my 2010 Tacoma TRD Sport. Normally $4,500 but I can get it for $2,500 (one was ordered and never installed). Gives the truck 303 HP according to the Toyota rep. Doesn't affect warranty at all.

Since it is only rear wheel drive and there's no weight back there, I wonder if you could keep it from wearing the rear tires out in 6 months!

    Anybody ever do it?

both of the above links are 4x4s. the op seems worried about his truck being a 2x4 and getting the supercharger.

The search function works. I was simply helping him out.
I wouldn't think 4X vs 2X would make that much of a difference.
Anywho OP there are quite a few builds on this site that have Superchargers installed. There is one in particular of a step by step install. I'll see if I can find it.
Just search Supercharger and you will get a ton of threads.

Edit: Coma17 (a member on here) has a 03 supercharged Taco Prerunner

    <----- Supercharged
    <----- 2WD

Tires last as long as you let them, The 303 HP they mention is in a much higher RPM range. You CANNOT break tires loose and spin them unintentionally.
