    Work in progress...
A loose shock will make that sound for sure.

It was front right C-clip? Probably wrong name. It looks like a “C” shaped washer. Goes around the front of the shock i think. He showed it to me I It was a little loose meaning the bolt wasn’t torqued down enough to keep it from spinning. Wasn’t going to come off but just an annoying sound. When he hit the rim from the inside while up in the rack it made the exact sound of like keys on a keychain. The tech drove down the street with me took his seat belt off and was hanging so far out the window it looked like he was trying to escape from being kidnapped. They even got a stethoscope out. He said that washer or clip whatever it’s called is a double redundant saftey
Feature so if you for example ever got air born it wouldn’t come apart. The shock and the axle. I’m probably screwing up this whole explaination but the mechanically inclined on here probably know what I’m talking about and can clear this up a bit. Anyways another used model made the same sound but a brand new one did not. Mine didn’t start till around 3,500k. So if you hear chain or keys rattles from the front (right seems to be the side favorite) then have them check that. No big deal. No saftey involved just annoying.

I found the gremlin. The tension spring on the bottom pin on the drivers side brake caliper was put with the 'ears' outside of the brake pads and not inside where it belongs. No more rattle.

Damn sorry bro. I will climb underneath tonight and take a pic. If it doesn’t work I’ll find a diagram or worst case I draw a diagram and take a pic. I’ll text the a engineer who works for Toyota I ended up befriending that day and ask him the name. He was under the rack when they found it. CHECK BACK TONIGHT

    Sorry, no pic.

The W shaped clips are the ones I am talking about. The lower one pictured...the lower ends go inboard of your two brake pads and the pins pass thru the bent wire. The two top ends that are bent outward in an L shape go into a hole in each brake pad backing plate. The center bend just hangs off into space. Basically you squeeze the two bottom legs together and slide them between your brake pad backing plates and inser the pin. Then you clip the two L shaped upper ends in the holes in the brake pad backing plates. It supplies slight outward and some downward pressure on the pin and pad, preventing the rattle.

A better pic of the anti-rattle spring. The bottom spring is pictured as it would be installed.

    No bro it is this

Front lower control arm. The ball joint in that arm is where the snap ring is.

It’s a C shaped snap ring inside that circled area but the pic doesn’t really show it

57BDCAA7-2549-467A-A616-D3373E858ACC.jpg This isn’t my truck but this is a pic of the exact part that was making a “chain or keys “ rattling sound. It’s called a snap ring. Sorry about the wrong name earlier

Looks like the ball joint retaining ring. If that fell off all kinds of fun would take place. Toyota doesn't use Truarc rings?

The snap ring came off on yours causing the rattle?

It wasn’t torqued down so it loose and it rattled driving over bumps. Sounded like a chain rattle.
