Just like the title says I’m looking for a scan, PDF, etc of the official procedure from Toyota to dealers on replacing the frame. I’m not looking for the inspection workflow, I’m looking for the step by step instructions the technicians follow when replacing a frame. Does anyone have this or know if was issued as a supplement to the service manual.

    Thanks!

I’ve done frame replacements and never had an instruction book. It’s more like a take stuff apart until only the frame is left, then do everything you did backwards.

I picked this up some time back - looks like it might be what you're looking for. I've put on my OneDrive for sharing:

    Here is an updated one.
The included part numbers are helpful even if you aren't replacing the frame.

    OME and worth every penny.
Anyone who took shortcuts like that shouldn't be working on other peoples cars PDF or not.
Take off body, roll out frame, swap out drivetrain, roll back under body, lower body back on.
Hook up all the dangley parts.

Thank guys, exactly what I was looking for. My Tacoma is past the frame recall date so I’ll be doing the swap this fall. I have access to a show with lifts, etc and I’ve found frames from wrecker yards for around $850 in my area.

Wow! That's quite a project. I predict that you are going to learn a lot about Tacomas! :)

Please let us know how it progresses! And good luck!

Try to remove BIG assemblies. Example: Rear axle, leafs, shocks, wheels.....as 1 big a55 assembly. Take the bed, cab and doghouse as intact assemblies. Engine, trans, xfer case as 1 unit.

Break the minimum amount of connections as possible.

The reassembly should be smoother with less trouble shooting post work.

Pictures of any area that is a challenge to you. It'll help to remember what goes where. Label all the hose and electrical ends.

    Good Luck.......what a task.

@HAVOC thanks for providing this. Out of curiosity, since then has there been any later revisions to this document, and if so, do you have a copy you could provide us with?

I don't get it. What state are you in?
Did you drive a rusty NY truck to CA and will now find a clean frame locally in CA?
Or will you be removing the rusty frame, to buy another rusty frame

or a frame that may need work first
Am guessing you don't plan on working on the frame before it's installed, such as boxing it with a welder

I grabbed the PDF when I had an active account over at techinfo.toyota.com (I also grabbed all the PDF's and service bulletins related to my truck).
