Anybody have experience with the newer BOSS lift kits from TOYTEC?

Had a 2003 with the "Ultimate 955 " kit. It had Bilstein 5100 shocks along with the other components that lifted it about 2-3 inches or whatever you chose.

I LOVED that ride.. got rid of that horrible shimmy shammy the OEM suspension had. Made the truck feel totally solid and tight

Now of course, they got rid of it. Telling me that the 5100's are not being made and are difficult to get ahold of..

So they offered me the BOSS kit with eibach springs and new shocks made by eibach that are ( according to them) much better...

Anyone have a clue or experience?

    Here is the link thanks!

I have no experience with Toytecs stuff but for 150 bucks more you can get a reputable coil over from Fox, icon, king. If I recall correctly the old toytec coil overs were not rebuildable. Not sure about the new stuff

If I was spending money on quality suspension, I'd want at the very least, components that can be rebuilt.

The Bilstein 5100's they still sell on their site? Haha sounds like they wanted to make a bigger sale or something.

Or in the full kit for half the cost of BOSS.

I ran the BOSS setup for a couple years and I thought it was good for what I wanted at the time. I was able to keep up with folks who had much more expensive setups than my own.

Edit: here are just a few of the trips I took with them (and here are more - anything before 2019):

The downside is that they aren't rebuildable. As such, I'm now running ADS (at a much higher initial price point).

Pretty sure they still make the 5100

    are the 5100's rebuildable?
and do they carry a lifetime warranty? My Bilstein HD's on my Jetta do.

5100s are not rebuildable, only performance coilovers like Fox, King, Icon, ADS, Radflo etc. are rebuildable but they are more expensive than Bilsteins.

5100s do come with a lifetime warranty but there are a lot of cases on here where people could not get their warranty honored when others have, it's not something I'd rely on personally.

Nope, 5100's aren't rebuildable - that's why they cost a lot less than the higher-end shocks. But depending on your use, that may be OK. I mean, they'll last a long time if you aren't abusing them every day. Even my BOSS' above lasted through all these trips and would still be working just fine if I had them installed.

Not everyone needs Fox, King, Icon, ADS, despite what TW might suggest :). There's nothing easier than for us to spend other people's $$$. hahahahaha

When I bought mine through Amazon and saw they shipped from some 3rd party seller, I pretty much knew any warranty would be useless. When they do blow, hopefully not for quite some time, Ill replace with nitrochargers.

Not to deviate the thread but why Nitrochargers? Why not replace with another set of Bilstein if you're not really upgrading to the bigger name brands?

Just to try something different really. The prices are similar, and it seems the Nitrochargers get better reviews. I do like the 5100's though.

I am super torn... they dont make the original ultimate kit at Toytec. Evidently the threaded body shocks are no longer available. So I either go with the BOSS kit or their other 5100 kit... I really liked the ride I had with the other kit and I am not convinced (yet) of the BOSS durability or its ride...

If you're not convinced, why not go with the often-recommended, tried and true, more affordable Bilstein 5100's?
