    I change mine every 5k, overkill sure. But to each their own. My Toyota care freebies were used and I never had more than 5k on the filter / oil. If for whatever reason they did forget to change the filter, the oil, or both it never had more than 10k on it, the regular service interval.

    I always check the dip stick after the dealer work and both times it was hard to read due to the new oil, thankfully. Never checked the filter for above reasons. At least there was a filter in there when I changed the oil after the first dealer oil change. We’ll see on the next oil change as the previous one was my last Toyota care, ha.

    TLDR: I’ve been on TW a long time and I don’t trust the dealer
