You have the 7-pin with the tow package?
Ya... adapters are available at any auto parts store. Uhaul probably even has them and may rent you one (but it's good to have one, I'd buy one for $30 rather than renting one for $15).

exactly. At some point I will get an adapter and a brake controller myself, so I can haul whatever I can handle and be able to hook up to it properly.

Adapting from your 4-wire to a "proper" 7-wire is pretty involved.
Not impossible, but personally, I'd just go with a ready-made kit.

The thing that confuses me is the auction says that it only fits trucks with the factory towing package.
The factory towing package already includes the 7-pin connector.

The 4-wire has left turn/stop, right turn/stop, and running lights.
The 7-wire is actually simpler to connect to the stock truck since it doesn't combine the stop and turn... but it adds backup, electric brake, and constant 12v:

Your 4-wire connector has an electronics package behind the taillights that combines the turn and brake into the two signals.
I paid about $60 for my 4-wire kit.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.

My adapter was under $20 few years ago.

It's just a plug-n-play adapter to go from 6 pin round to 4 pin flat or from 7 pin round to 4 pin flat. Whichever you need.

Hey, you wouldn't happen to have pictures of that setup? I just bought a CURT 4-Way to 7-Way RV Blade & 4-Way Flat Adapter. and installed the easy part, just am going to need some guidance with the extra wiring needed.
