Those are characteristics of a defective truck, not because it’s Tacoma. You may run into one,two or none of those problems. When you have the truck, just try to enjoy it. You’re stressing yourself out even before you have the truck.

I'm sharing anyway, because the few issues I've had were minor and replaced under warranty or have a tsb recall.

HVAC blower wheel stripped out, replaced with new redesigned part, battery leaked, replaced under warranty with 84 month true start Toyota battery (worth it for the battery battery and warranty), and third brake light gasket failure, but noticed before any damage occurred. There's a free tsb recall, but I bought a replacement brake light and will probably install myself.

You've got a new truck on order with a warranty. You're fine. Enjoy it and quit worrying. :p

Whiners World is the name of this forum. Get off before your corrupted.

On a side note 2018 dclb 4x4 sport here, and not a single problem.

Only problem I have is I don’t want to work anymore because my Tacoma opened so many doors for me with places to go and people I have met.

Only issue I had with the truck that was a warranty issue was my touch screen got a yellow line in it and was replaced free of charge.

You gotta keep an eye on the frame rust if you wanna keep the truck long term. Fluid Film is your friend.

The problem with Tacomaworld is selection bias. The average tacoma owner just does their thing, follows the maintenance schedule and has a generally reliable & capable vehicle, they probably have no idea this site exists.

This site will show you infinite horror stories, which are inevitable with any mass production item.

Sometimes, its best to ignore most of whats on here apart from: these trucks rock, have fun & be safe.

Just got mine, just passed 2k. In the honeymoon phase but I love it. Stock truck IMHO, rode great.

All those things can happen, but it's the internet... there are more frequent posts about stuff going wrong but there are many more people NOT online without those problems at all. I'm still learning the truck but I can tell this will be a truck to last well beyond 200k and any issue in between here and there, is just a small (hopefully) bump in the road ;)

    Get the truck!

There are some circumstances in life in which one "atta boy" can wipe out the stink of 100 "Aw shit!"s (golf, for example)... and then there are some circumstances in which one "aw shit!" can overpower 100 "atta boy"s - like most postings here on TW. :proposetoast:

I have almost 32K on my 2019 TRD Pro with no issues to date. Very happy with it, although I am contemplating having the KD MAX Pro tune installed in the near future given how much everyone raves about it.

Anyway, I say just pour yourself a Guinness and chill. And look forward to those new wheels.

2019 off-road with 34 months only issue has been front alignment. After 2 failed dealer attempts I took it to an alignment center where that is all they do and $110 later fixed perfectly

None. All stock. Clarence Brown Alignment in San Diego did a great job. The outer treads was feathering on the front tires. After the 2nd failed attempt by the dealer the service manager said I probably needed to go to an alignment shop

I had my 2018 TRD OR DCLB for 3 years and 30,000 miles--it had the fuel pump and brake light recalls. For comparison, my wife’s 2012 Camry XLE has 137,000 miles on it and nary a mechanical problem. Finally replaced the original brake pads and front rotors last month. It does have the Super White paint recall but I’ve not seen any problem with the paint.
