Aah the dealer. I have two options near me. The first is that type that is basically a kiosk and they lie out their ass and through their teeth. Guy in the parts dept is chill. Then the other dealer is that kind of place where everyone that works there is wearing clothing a size too small.

    A few.
Havent experienced any of the issues you listed except for some of the howling from the rear under certain circumstances, which from what I understand, is just a case of harmonics. I did just receive the recall notice for the water leak in the 3rd brake light issue ,although I havent personally experienced any leaking in that area on my 2019. Currently at 55k miles.

    2021 tacoma dclb = no issues…
2021 jeep rubicon = where do I start with the problems: recalls, battery problems, start/stop, head unit issues is just the start…

Forgot to add this 2017 that someone posted several months ago, for sale in Utah. Seems like it is fairing well at 273,000 miles :eek:

My 2015 SR5 4 banger with manual 5 speed has never been back to dealer other than getting frame inspected which a letter from Toyota was sent. The dealer said immaculate - nothing needed. I change the oil myself every year and it always gets 30+ MPG per Imperial gallon ( slightly larger than US gallon) in town and highway and has performed perfectly for my needs (sometimes it has a squeaky clutch pedal on very humid days but have learned to ignore). I have even overloaded it at times but it does not complain and I am planning in keeping it as long as I can (near 70 years old). Somehow these trucks are known on TacomaWorld to be gutless but I have took a friend for a drive with a Hemi Dodge and he was surprised with the performance. It was not a Hemi but not a slug either plus I get twice the mileage he does and we all know my truck will last a lot longer than his with very little maintenance or repairs. The dealer who inspected the frame was trying to get me to trade it in and giving me a great trade-in but I like a lot of people , really don't want to part up with it. I know now why people tend to keep Tacoma's for a long time. Just enjoy your new truck and don't keep looking at the new models as they will always be offering goodies to keep trying to get you to trade it in. There is no reason why you can't keep a new truck for 20 plus years if you look after it especially Toyota's. They may be a little more expensive to buy but worth it in the long run. The only thing I can recommend is buy quality accessories you really want in the first place as at first I had a soft cover and did not like the fit or flapping when driving, so I got a hard Fold-A-Cover which is great but I lost money selling the soft cover after only owning a year or so. Just enjoy and ignore all the hate.

Well it's been a mess first a battery at about 2.5 years then an O2 sensor around 89,000 miles I'm ready to junk it even though it only has 140,000 miles on it.

2020 SR5 V6 A/T with 20k miles, bought in 2019 and not a single problem. Just finished my free Toyota care services and don’t ever plan on bringing the truck back to the dealership for basic maintenance again. Contemplating purchasing the 10yr extended warranty though, only because of all the modern electronics and there prices.

...And those are just a few of the minor issues. lol Seriously though, my 2020 has been for the most part flawless. It did have a initial problem with a dirty door light switch which a shot of deoxit spray took care of. I don't know the quality of these newest tacoma's, but if its anything similar to mine you will be one happy camper.

Right?! My kind of mess though. Piece of cake. Both items can be replaced in less than an hour.

Just don't be a DIY guy and actually screw things up and then bring to the dealer to fix and get denied. Most of us have done it or similar at some point in our life, but don't make a thread about how bad the truck is for your own mistake(this is a recent thread).

Zero problems here for a new truck, one note is when you bring yours in for Toyota care service don't let the dealer rotate the wheels, they Effing scratched and chipped the paint on mine. Not sure if i make a fuss or let it go.

I’ve had my truck since 2016 and I have about 90k miles on it. I haven’t had a problem with anything, the only recall I got was for the third brake light but I replaced that with the meso KC 5 a couple of years ago
