Anybody put 285/75r16 on stock rims? (Question regarding UCAs)

    Hi y'all!

    A little backstory first:
After having my taco for a whole year now, my tires have seen almost every type of terrain throughout the southwestern states (CA, NV, AZ, NM, and UT), and made it out alive each time.
However, on my last adventure, I managed to puncture two of my tires; one went flat immediately and we used the spare. The other one was not noticed immediately, but slowly leaked all the way back to pavement, luckily near a gas station where my brother finally remembered he had a tire-plug kit with him, and he saved the day.
So, with the necessity of buying new tires, I see it as an opportunity to upgrade! Woot!

    Actual post starts here:
I am planning on getting Toyo AT3's in 285/75r16, as well as a ~2" lift. I am prepared to do a cab-mount chop if necessary, and trimming as-needed.
I am sticking with the stock rims, because I'm cheap. Plus, they look good... (I am aware the 7" rim is slightly outside the "recommended" range of wheel widths according to Toyo, but I am fairly confident that it won't cause any real problems).

** My question here, is which aftermarket upper control arms will give me the clearance needed to avoid rubbing?

I am not going to use spacers
    .
    Don't try to persuade me.

Hopefully some of you are running a similar setup, and can confirm for me which UCA you have, along with what tire size you're running (width is most important, assuming ~33 inch tires) on your stock 16x7" (+25mm offset) wheels.

(If you are using spacers, then please, refrain from posting.)

I feel like nearly all aftermarket UCAs out there should provide more clearance than the stock UCA... But does anyone know if certain UCAs provide more clearance than others?

    Bonus side-mission:
I measured on my stock UCA, the distance from the outer-edge (part that will rub against tire) to the center of the ball joint, and it's about 2". (attached pic I took of this measurement, showing 1.957" on my calipers)

I would be grateful if some folks could try to measure the same dimension on your aftermarket UCA, so that we could potentially compare clearance provided by various UCAs. You don't need to use calipers if you don't have one, a tape-measure estimate will do fine.
*I know this is asking a lot, since it's not entirely necessary... so, do it only if you're curious to find out how they compare!

    Thanks everyone!!!

I want to run the same tires and lift, but am leaning more towards getting wheels with a negative offset, to be able to help with clearance from my UCAs. With the positive offset from the stock wheels, and this size of tire, I just don't know if there's any aftermarket UCAs that could make it work. Good luck OP, hope someone can chime in to help!

I run KO2 285/75/16s on stock 2017 Tacoma TRD OR wheels.

    SPCs fit perfectly.

No CMC needed and no rubbing. 20210128_153709.jpg Screenshot_20210203-085246_Instagram.jpg

It looks like you are on the D setting (+2 caster). What is your actual caster? Did you max out the LCA to push the tire to the front (front cam fully in, rear cam fully out)? How much clearance do you have from the cab mount and front fender at full stuff? And lastly, how much clearance do you have to the UCA?

If you don't mind me asking, what made you choose these UCAs? I'm on the fence about tacking on UCAs to my wishlist, I just can't find a definitive answer on whether I would need them with only a 2" lift.

Sorry bud, but I had a shop install them so I don't know the specs that you're asking about.

As far as clearance from the cab mount and front fender: I've never measured the clearance (is that a thing?) but Ive been on some gnarly trails and haven't had any rub issues.

I went SPC because of their solid alignment adjustability to get you a perfect alignment after the lift.

If I remember my research correctly, if there ever comes a time where I change out the wheels to a different offset, the SPC's will provide that clearance/adjustability that I would need to get the correct alignment that the OEM UCA's would not be able to provide.
