Just wondering if anybody else has ever put in a backyard ice rink? Thought it might be interesting to share pictures, tips, tricks, etc.

Here is a pic of mine last year. It was 16' x 26'. This year I am going 22'x32'

it does really well. Better than expected. This pic shows how smooth it can get. Ignore the fact that neither of us have skates on. :D

We used to build one when I was younger. We used rail road ties as a perimeter and lined it with plastic. We then pumped water from the pool into the rink, skated on it all winter, then pumped it back in the spring. The one we used to make was probably in the neighborhood of 30 x 30.
