I have a 4x4 Sport. The main difference between the 4x4 Sport and OR is the E Locker. I have taken my Sport off road hundreds of times hunting and fishing over the last 10+ years and it’s always gotten me there and back, sometimes in pretty rough terrain and mud. The limited slip in 4wd makes these trucks formidable off road machines. Never once needed the e locker or missed having it. I like the Sport, like the looks, just plain like my truck.
I think a lot of guys get the OffRoad because of the “cool”factor. Look at me, I’ve got a really cool off road macho truck, even though most, seldom if ever take it 4 wheeling off road, never use the locker, 99.9% highway use.
But bottom line get what you want and like, it’s all about what you like and want, not what other people think.

Toyota for whatever (IMO stupid) reason decided to sell the Off Road Access Cab w/MT only in Canada. Us USAers were stuck with only the Sport in that config.

My Sport is a mall queen, with limited offroad use,but it's more than capable. So the answer is nope.

The scoop looks tough, all the Off-Road drivers I know are jealous of it and my manual transmission (the golden combo).

"A bitchin' scoop AND a 6MT, did you have to enter a lottery for a chance to bid on that?!" they ask.
    "Yes." I reply.

Biggest difference is the shocks/springs and the
17” vs 16” wheels. The Sport is better on the road.

I have the sport, For the most part she is a pavement princess. I do get her dirty On a few dirt roads headed toward Mountain Bike trails. Couldn't be happier. Did put bigger tires, Just makes it look better in my opinion

    And Its Manual.

Bad advice; my requirements were good road manners, occasional 4WD, and a manual transmission; the OR is a poor second to the Sport for such requirements.

    I’m with ya.
Better road manners led me to the Sport. I need a truck for snow, rain and to do light truck stuff. I have a FJ TTSE for trails and off road use.

So you dis the OR and their owners as being posers then you brag about the ugly hood scoop.
