No regrets at all. I currently own 2 prerunners (01 & 08). I have 31"MTs on both and have never been stuck in the snow or off road.

There are gonna be less members if this turns into a 4x4 vs. 4x2 thread. Just sayin.

Yep. It wasn't always this bad, but the last 3 years have changed me. 7 months out of the year suck. Before it was only 4-5 months. Trying to convince my wife to move to Southern California :)

I didnt buy the truck, just inherited it, but I wish I had 4x4. Especially this last winter. For my daily driving, I know where to go and to not go when it's snowy, but during that time, I had to deliver pizzas for work. Guess who orders pizzas during snow storms? People who live in hilly neighborhoods who struggle to drive themselves. When I wasn't delivering at work, I was pulling (and attempting to pull cO workers out of the snow).

Other than the snow, I just want 4x4 to satisfy my ego. The stock height and wheel size looks cooler on 4x4 compared to 5 luggers.

    No regrets here.

I've never had 4wd, I was born in Wisconsin back when 4wd was almost non-existent. First truck was an '88 mitsudodge ram-50 that got me through winters in WI, KS, IA and finally CO before I picked up my 5-lug, which hasn't let me down either.

ill never own another 2wd truck. my first truck a 1970 f-100 with that 300 straight six and three on the tree was an amazing truck. would do anything, pull anything, i mean.. it was unstoppable.. until it came to low traction situations. and it was so goddam heavy if it stopped moving.. well.. i was pretty screwed.

my 89 yoder was all but useless in the winter in 2wd. maybe thats because the custom weight shedding rust that demolished the body panels and bed in upstate ny.. maybe not. whos to tell.. but once i engaged that xfer case.. it was sky's the limit. that truck got stuck ONCE. almost the same story with my 99.

my most recent mistake i got for free.. so.. it wasnt so much a mistake as a gift. my 96 ranger would get stuck at the first sign of low traction. ive seen people do some damage with those guys offroad with 4wd.. but 2wd just got me nowhere in that thing

now my first brand new truck and youre damn right i wanted 4wd. since i was in highschool i wanted one of these trucks! thats what they did! they went wheelin and came out of the nastiest pits with the most mud and the least problems. it just made sense to get 4wd.. but i look around here in ga and almost everyone has a prerunner. i have to admit.. i didnt even know what a prerunner meant until i did some light reading here on tw. everyone has their truck for their own reasons.. but i grew up idolizing the 4wd prowess of the tacoma.

my first experience with my new tacoma in 4wd? im in love
