Would love to know which one it was. As far as I knew the only one with a plug-n-play harness was the OEM version, but lord knows I've been wrong before!

I second that, OEM is better in my opinion. It is Plug-and-play, and integrated very nicely, no splicing/tapping into wires.
I also brought my from BAM Wholesale.

Mine is coming with bed lights already. That would be a day 1 purchase if it didn’t

So people have said here. Also, that kit that Wire4Money pointed out looks more plug n play than the original pop n lock kits but I still see taps and bare wire ends which the OEM kit does not have. I will defer to him on that though since he has actually installed it and I haven't.

I mean either way I’m going to stick with the OEM. It’s nice that the pop n lock is PnP now though. The one wired in this truck now was not and the harness is spliced up

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I installed a Pop n Lock in my new Taco a week after taking delivery. $140 bucks and a couple of hours of piddling with the easy work. It's completely plug n play. As for being noisy? It's a f'n tailgate lock! It sounds just like all the doors when they're activated. I can't believe that would be an issue to worry about. The process of removing from one truck and going through the install on another to save $140 is pretty lame, IMO.

I spent 140 on the OEM with shipping. I’m not saying that the sound is a huge factor for me, but if I have an option that’s quieter (and OEM) then yeah I’m gonna go with that.

The bare ends have pins on them that you click into a connector so you don’t have to try to get a wiring connector through the grommet. I thought pop n lock made the oem kit. At any rate, it is plug and play.

Not sure about that, but the cables are different between the two. In any case good that pop n lock is plug n play now. Gives people a choice for PnP installs.

the OEM version has the new grommet that you replace the under-seat one with pre-installed on the wire loom. Pop out old, run new cables/loom and make sure that the new grommet is secure.
