Disconnect battery. Remove serpentine belt. Disconnect wires to alternator. Unbolt. Reverse steps to install new alternator

Followed the advice fm kenlyn`s link it `says remov radiator support frame seal LH (the 2 feet long/7in wide plastic piece on top of radiator) then remove fan shroud (the big black casing for the fan). But the Fan shroud does not come out (up or down) as the fan is on its way and no clearance forward because of rad. Anyone hav a better explanation..i just gav up for the day.
Also the 2 bolts holding the Alternator does not come off even with impact gun..with gunk liquid wrench rust penetrant.

I found it easier to get access on the lower bolt from the bottom. Remove the battery a well...you'll have more room to work with.

After a great struggle..as bolts were seized..lots of liquid wrench lube and impact gun..removed the bolts. I guess without loosening the tension on the belt i cannot pull the alternator. Has anyone worked on this belt tensioner...is it easier to work from bottom. Also looks like its easier to take the alternator out from the bottom once its free. thnks

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
definitely easier to remove the bolts and remove tension from underneath. no need to remove the shroud or anything else.

like the others said, disco the battery, disco the cables from the alt, remove the belt, unbolt the 2 bolts, then pull it out the top.

    then reverse.

    this all from experience...
