So im broke and need a new set of tires. Im currently on 265/75/16 nitto TG's with a 3'' lift. I want to go to 285's (nitto TGs or other all terrain) but theyre so god damn expensive. I've been given the following offer by my old man (who isn't a fan of my offroading excursions): he'll buy me a new set of rubber if I go with a highway tire. So, I'm entertaining the idea of moving to a highway tire  but bumping up to 285's. I would hate to lose that offroading capability, but he mentioned some highway tires are available with beefed up sidewalls. Anyways, curious to see if anyones running 33'' highway tires with a small lift and how it looks/if they like it/if they can do any offroading at all.

    thanks in advance.
edit: i wont be 'taking the free tires, selling them and buying some AT's'...that's not a valid loophole haha

KO is a great tire, but they're nearly as aggressive as the NTG... his dad will probably not go for it.
That's what I ran on my Duramax.

you'll probably be surprised how well some street tires can do offroad.

^^^ I think you mean rugged terrain. Those could be a happy medium.

Also Michelin LTX AT2 could be wise choice. Very long lasting. My pops had some some a tacoma he used to have and got 65k out of one set.

This is technically an AT , but sure looks like a road tire.

I think. I know rugged trails come on tacos. Hell maybe they come on both. But I know Bfg make a rugged terrain that's more aggressive than the trails. But still not a very aggressive a/t by any means.

I know people who run the ltx at2 are very happy with the performance. Superior wet/ dry traction and I've been told there very of themselves in snow an slush. Seems like a great all around tire.

I just bought some 285/70/17 Dynapro ATMs and am happy with them thus far. I can take some pics tomorrow for you if you'd like.

+ another 1 on getting some semi-aggressive Michelins with a tread life warranty. They will still be pretty good offroad when aired down a bit but give you long service and better (and quieter) on-road performance. Probably save you some gas money too.

If he will go for the first, I'll bet you'll be happy. If not, go for the second and your off-roading ability will go down, but still decent imho. Both come in the 285/75/16 you are looking for.

My dad hates the idea of mud tires and off road, but we compromised on BFG A/Ts because of their reliability
