Damnnnn!! Just look at that projection!
I can see why you decided to go with the metal buckets with the glass lens rather than the plastic stuff!
That first picture really shows how nice that projection line is. It seriously doesn't look like lights that were coming from a 1997 toyota truck! Lol!

My goodness brother, that is one heck of a headlight system you got there. Awesome job!

    Hey bud!
I wanted to ask, when you installed your set of D.T. headers, which exhaust gaskets did you use?
I read on a thread here that someone recommended NOT using the factory toyota gaskets and then I've read that you should ONLY use the factory Oem exhaust gaskets...
    I'm confused..

I bought a new set of OEM gaskets,
You might have issues with the nuts that go on the heads on the drivers side FYI,
I think he removed the complete studs to do this job that hold the headers on.

getting some different nuts if I remember the guys said some fit and some didn’t because of clearance issues

I had a muffler shop do my installation because it needed a custom ERG tube made and a AFR bung welded in

    Got it! @1997tacomav6
Thank you for the heads up!

I've heard of the same thing that your exhaust guy went through. A few people stated on TW that they couldn't get the header on without actually removing the exhaust studs. Some guys just get lucky and it all works out, and others don't. Luck of the draw i suppose.
However, I did order new exhaust studs and nuts for this install. When I did my 3rz headers, 5 of the 8 exhaust studs turned out due to those mechanical nuts, locking onto them like they were welded together...

But I will go ahead and order a set of OEM gaskets and will be ready when I need to install those headers!

    Hey @1997tacomav6
Do you by chance have a photo of the location where your exhaust guy welded on your AFR bung?
I also need one welded into my exhaust, as I have a AEM AFR gauge waiting to be installed. :D

What did you guys use to clean the carbon off the head on the exhaust side?

It’s near impossible to see anything and even more difficult to get into a position effectively see and clean. What methods did you use?

Yeah I’m talking about the carbon left on the exhaust ports. I rubbed it with brake cleaner and a little came off all around but I’d have to spend hours doing this to take it back to bare aluminum.

Im curious if everyone was taking it back to bare or just leaving it alone.

Guys running JBA. Does your Y pipe sit directly on the primary’s on the passenger side?

this shit is touching the transmission dipstick and the crossover on the primary’s and it still won’t line up...
