My bad. Just trying to be helpful. I was under the impression that HeadStrong was the only place that you can get the extended travel. I thought Elka made them specifically for that vendor and weren’t available for purchase directly from them. They are not listed on the Elka website, but maybe you can call in and special order

If the cost of getting things from the states was less Headstrong is the first place I would go. I was more just ranting about the customs/duty/taxes/shipping/ costs. Plus the exchange rate is getting worse all the time. It sucks trying to buy parts up here.

Ya, don’t be sorry. I wasn’t trying to be bitchy or anything.
They don’t say extended travel on the website. But there’s two options, one for stock geometry and one for 2-3” lift. If you look at the specs of the two, the 2-3” lift option has a longer travel listed, for the front at least.

They do look nice, I won’t lie. The attention to detail by Elka is impressive. The front coils were shipped preset to 2.5” of lift and are side specific. I can tell they adjusted one a bit more to account for the taco lean and labeled the boxes for me. They included a color printout of installation instructions, with pictures. And the included spanner wrench, lube for the upper rear shock mount bushing and sway bar relocation kit (also side specific and labeled for me) are a nice touch as well. I have a sway bar relocation kit on my truck now but they are heavily corroded so I will gladly replace them. And the only thing I may do is replace the zip ties holding the rubber sleeves on the rear shocks with hose clamps as I learned with my 5100s that zip ties don’t last long.

And haha, we’ll see how they look after one winter. My 5100s were already corroding after the first winter so I’m hopeful the aluminum bodies can at least make it two or three years before they start to show signs of salt damage. I’ll probably buy some fluid film too, just in case.

I’ll be doing a lot of work grinding off rust and painting my frame, trailer hitch, hubs, drums and underbody before the new wheels and suspension go on so I’m sure I’d get a lot of use out of the fluid film.

Nice! Looks like they’re really playing hard ball with the competition. As I was reading your post I was going to mention Fluid Film. Good call on that.

For sure. I’m going to put in the effort to clean as much of the frame and suspension supports up as I can and repaint them before the install. I also purchased a set of SCS F5s that will be going on with the suspension and without center caps, my dust caps and rear hubs need some love too. And don’t even get me started on the rear drums... fluid film will be going everywhere. And if it holds up through winter I’ll clean and reapply every spring.

Looking into the same set up. You install yet? would love some comparisons with the 5100. Also looking into Fox 2.0 kit. Both would be 0-2" so no need for UCAs.

Not yet... the weather hasn’t been cooperating on my days off. And I need it to be dry and 50+ so I can paint. It’ll probably be another 2 weeks to a month before they go on.

@WormSquirts is a local to you vendor that might be able to get you a better deal than direct from Elka

Thanks for the tag. We were supposed to become an Elka dealer, and everything was all lined up, basically written in stone, but two days later they decided to make another shop in our area their exclusive dealer in BC and basically told us to f#$& off... I've emailed them a couple times since, but have been ignored. It was all a bit weird and we are pretty bummed to be honest. That said, we can hook you up with pretty well any suspension setup except Elka.

If you are set on Elka, you should contact Krave automotive in Calgary, they are friends of ours and do a great job. They can hook you up with Elka for sure.

I posted a thread a little while ago but didn’t get any response. To me there seemed to be a striking similarity between the Elka 2.0s, radflo 2.0s and Toytec Aluma 2.0s, leading me to think they may share a common oem.

Lol, What response do you expect? You just made a statement of your opinion.
    I’ll respond with, “ok, that’s cool”. :D

    That’s cool, very helpful

I was inquiring if Anyone knew if they are indeed the same oem manufacturer or if they are indeed unique. There is a sizable price difference between the brands, wouldn’t make much sense to pay several hundred more for the same shock would it?

    Oh, ok. There’s a question. ;)
Elka and Radflo say that they make their own shocks. Maybe someone else can answer the question about ToyTec.
Long story short, no. They dont share the same OEM.

ToyTec has Radflo manufacture their line for them, not sure if there are differences beyond the color.

that’s what I figured and the elka 2.0s appear almost identical to the Toytec Leading me to think they might not make the 2.0 line in house. The only difference i really noticed is the lower control arm bushing, Toytec appears to use a rubber bushing vs solid.

It's unlikely, Toytec is a retailer that had a company make a private label to their specs. Elka is a Canadian manufacturer that has a suspension factory in Quebec, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have a competitor from the US build parts for them.
