image.jpg Looking for reviews on Maxxis Buckshot MT II 764. I've ran the old bias ply 9.50-16 and the 8 ply steel belted Buckshots and got good service out of them. Just wanting to know about these before I pull the trigger on a new set. I'm gonna run 265-75-16 C load range. They are $170 a piece on Maxxis.com. Any help is appreciated !!

I am not currently running them, but have in the past. They were actually a really good tire. I had them on a GMC Sierra in a 35" size.

I hadn't even thought about Maxxis in a long time. I had a few sets of the 751 on the farm trucks years ago, they were a good tire. Sub to see what is said about the 764.

I've searched all over to find reviews and haven't had any luck. Hoping someone has some thing good to say. WSC 2016 I've ran 751 and 754 and liked them. So I don't know how they can't be s great tire.

Yea I've ran those and got 65k out if them. Great off road but not to good in wet and rainy conditions. Probably due to lack of siping. The 764 looks to be better in wet because it has more sipes.

My dad ran the original Buckshot bias ply tires and then Radials when they made a 36" size and while awesome in the mud and deep snow they were a pain to balance and howled like a mo fo on the highway.

All I can find are reviews from Australia. They are called Bighorn 762 there. They have been out about 2 years there. Good reviews off and on road and in wet conditions on road. But noisy on road. To me most M/T 's are noisy so it's no prob for me.

    improved toyota goodness.
a friend has them on his dakota... good in mud and decent in the recent powdery snow... terrible on any ice and abissmal on wet pavement - i was with him the time he very nearly rear ended a logging semi stopping for a light with more than 100 yards of locked up slide in his truck on a slightly wet road at 60-70*F from about 65.
as for me i would not run them on my DD or any highway frequenting vehicle... safety first.

Bumping this thread as I'm shopping for tires and I like the looks of these new Buckshot MT's. I'm currently on Hercules Trail Diggers which have been awesome tires for the money. Looking for another budget friendly MT. My other choice is the Hankook MT. Any input would be greatly apriciated!

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these. $202 a piece OTD. Should be here by late next week. I'll post pics and give an initial report.

Good deal Lusetaco!! I haven't ordered any new tires myself. Haven't decided if I'm gonna buy the maxxis 764 or go to 17 inch wheels and get ko2 265 70 17 since they are load range C. Any input you can give is much appreciated !

Sorry brother. Forgot about this thread. The tire shop wasn't able to get the Buckshots. So I went with my second choice: Hankook MTs. Very smooth rolling mud terrain.

Just got a set of the Buckshot II. I have been through at least 6 sets of regular Buckshot Mudders in the last bunch of years on 2 different 4 wheel drives. I didn't even know these new II's existed. Just got back from camp for the weekend and tried them out...very impressed. Drive was good on the street but a lot more road noise than the originals. The II's have a much more distinct side bite. On the gravel, they didn't pick up as many stones as the originals, which is odd. Regular buckshots are bad about picking up stones and shooting them all under the vehicle (getting in between skid plates) and sometimes shooting them out in front of the vehicle. These didn't do much of that. In the mud the traction was even better than the regulars. Drove home 90 miles in a driving rain storm and they performed great...no hydro planing and I didn't have any issues all weekend long. When these wear out, I will buy the II's again.
