if you guys are getting flashed, highly doubt its "because I had my fog lights on with my headlights" and almost 100% its because you need to adjust your headlights aim properly

The mod is very useful though for aftermarket lights. On my 2nd gen the stock foglights were removed when I put on a bumper which let me wire the LED pods and light bar into the factory fog light harness and not do any extra work. The anytime mod for that was a simple jumper wire but being able to select when to use the extra lights is a lot better than only being able to use them with low beams. When you live in the middle of nowhere having a billion lumens is nice to avoid hitting moose.

I had that mod on my 99 Durango and it had to be disabled to pass my PA inspection. Wonder if the rules changed? This was back in the early 2000's.

I installed my headlights myself AFTER the truck was inspected for 2021; Inspection is due in October 2021 so I guess I'll have my mechanic adjust them...?

My truck had normal white lights with fluorescent-like LED halos around them; I don't think they're HID...

The guy who inspects my truck is also the one who installed the foglights… :D

Pennsylvania's ludicrous inspection rules have me fantasizing about moving to Florida or South Carolina on a regular basis though!

its pretty easy to do yourself, do some googling on properly adjusting your headlights.

I think people need to stop getting their panties in a twist over vehicles that aren't theirs, because that's the first time that's ever happened in the roughly six months since I installed the headlights; I will look into it though!

Do the low beams disengage when the highbeams are selected on the 3rd gen?

Does this mod allow highs and lows at the same time if the lows go off when the highs come on?

If only the fogs and highbeams are on in the dark with out the low beam. There won't be much forward long distance lighting which the lowbeam headlight would provide.

I'm not sure, my Taco has the OEM LED lights which are hands-down the best headlights I've had on any vehicle; I rarely need/use my high beams.

Engineers are always correct. They are FOG LIGHTS, not DRIVING LIGHTS. Learn the difference and, next time it is foggy out, turn your high beams on lol.

You must be an engineer, they always get salty about getting called on their design flaws lol. They also don't read the post where it was agreed that high beams are a terrible idea in the fog. Instead they assert their dominance by trying to make others look dumb.

Low beams stay on with highs, at least for the halogen projectors. Cant speak for the toyota LED option but the led low stays on in my 21 Ram when highs are on. Weird thing, the ram turns on the inside fog light while turning with high beams on. It wont however let you keep both fogs on with highbeams.

Then again Virginia can arrest you for going more than 10mph over the speed limit.
