Another question.. can you switch between vehicles with one subscription/device or do you have to pay for each vehicle?

Yep. I used it to change my flashers from 3 to 4 on the soft touch use. I have not needed it for any other use, it lives in my center console now.

That's cool. Most any confirmation or warning tone has always bothered me. Visual indicators and removable warning stickers are more than sufficient.

I've used it on my truck as well. I can answer questions if needed.

Had great results with mine as well, dealership would not turn off the seat belt chime so I ordered the Carista thing on Amazon and did it myself, changed a few other settings on my '21 taco as well as the wife's '21 TRD Pro T4R. if you pay the subscription you should be able to use it on any supported vehicle.

Last I looked into this the only useful thing you can do is the seat belt chime and the signal indicator increase. I know there are other features but other (free) OBD apps support those too.

Was there anything else carista's subscription can do for the tacoma?

If you know of others, please post up. It's good to spread the word.

Other useful functions in Carista that cannot be done in the head unit:
-- Program TPMS sensors with known sensor IDs
    -- Identify the ECU ID
-- There are a few helpful settings that can be programmed in the Auto Climate Control:
Keep the fan speed as set after selecting a defrost function
Keep the vent position as set when hitting Auto
Keep the A/C compressor setting as set when hitting Auto
-- On some 2020+ there is a setting to kill the door open chime
Although, I have tried this on two Tacos without actual success
Note: This is in TechStream. I am assuming that the current version of Carista is similar.

I used it to bump the turn signal up to 6 and turn off the seat belt chime. I roll around hunting a lot with the seat belt off and that seatbelt chime gets annoying. I didn't buy the carista blue tooth dongle, I just used on of the ones I already had, but it meshed with the carista app without issue.

I only have a 2016 SR so there isn't much to turn on/off. I just signed up for the 7 day free trial, changed what I wanted to that afternoon and then canceled it.

Exactly what I did. Otherwise I knew I'd forget to cancel and get billed for it.

Damn stickers. Those visor ones were a pain but worth the effort.
