I have a snug top camper shell and would like to add racks on top of the shell to either carry bags or even kayaks or bicycles. Has anyone done this? any pictures please would be excellent.

My first gen had the yakima adjustable tracks and my current second gen has the yakima landing pads, #6/7 in the link above. I prefer the adjustable rails a little over the landing pads, but they both work great.
