It is funny… once I was dating a really hot girl and then I realized that she had fake boobs so I lost interest on her….. hahahaha do not know why I came up with this comparison…

i do believe that fake scoop is like fake boobs.. I do like them even if they are not real.. I mean.. I can touch them, they both feel real to me… hahaha

I bought an OR back in 2018 with no intention of offroading it. Then I found this cesspool of a forum.
Look at the truck now. Complete with pinstripes.

I bought my off road in March and really didn't have any plans to off road it. It was the only local manual trans truck I could find within a 4 hour radius, so she was it.. Luckily, it was 5 minutes up the road too. I still off road, but prefer the thrills of an ATV :D:bikewhoops:

I’m one of the weirdos with a 2WD off road and I LOVE IT!!! I don't plan on going off road and here in Florida we don’t even have any hills.

You have lots of mud though; as we do in the great white north.

My SR will probably see more dirt than most ORs… :p

Don’t wheel as hard I used to, but do like those out of way camp spots.

With the new Ford Maverick at $28k for 250 HP turbo, AWD AND more leg room and headroom than the Tacoma, if I wasn't doing any "real truck stuff" or 4 wheeling, it's worth a hard look. You get the efficiency and comfort of a small suv but with some light truck utility. There's also the new Hyundai Santa Cruz but it costs more and is nicer inside by has a smaller bed, almost too small to be useful. I'm on the fence about selling off my new Tacoma which I just got. I just get the feeling that waiting for a full electric AWD mid size pickup with more interior room like the Maverick might make more sense for me. I'd bet hard cash they will release a full EV version or another brand will in 1-2 years. Combine that with a small leveling kit, some Wildpeaks and it'd be perfect for my needs.

For those people that are doing real off-roading or need to tow a boat or small camper then the Tacoma is still tops for now. A new updated Ranger may change that though. The Tacoma is also still by far the coolest looking but I'm too practical now to make a decision purely on that.

3in of leg room for the maverick and idk about headroom. Bed is a 4.5 foot bed. Its a great truck for somebody doing very light towing and weekend projects. With a 4000lb towing capacity and 1500 lb bed capacity its decent for those weekend projects or towing a seadoo or whatever. The price is what makes it pretty decent with the lariat starting at 25k

For sure. It just seems odd to me that is wasn't offered as a plug-in hybrid from the start, maybe even full EV. The standard hybrid engine is pretty impressive though at 40 mpg in a pickup with more room than the Tacoma! Too bad that 40 mpg can't be combined with their AWD as I live in a ski town where we get dumped on.

I stand firm the only 2 trims worth buying are the TRD off road and the SR 4 cyl.
I bought the TRD OR because I live in colorado. I'm not the biggest over lander, but it does snow here, and I like to fish, hunt and camp. The OR has been awesome in that regard. It's like a condom. I'd rather have and not need it than need it and not have it.

I don't know man, I think the SR DC 4x4 is the ticket as the stock wheels and tires are janky on all of the other trims anyways so they're getting swapped no matter what and I'll never use the locker even though I live in Tahoe where it snows a ton. I've never been stuck in the snow without the e-locker even though we'll get 6 feet plus in a week sometimes. An auto locker like the Chevy's have or an LSD like a Subaru is nicer for normal snow driving IMO anyways. A set of Wildpeaks gets me to all my camp spots and some generic Maxtrax could get you out of a bind but age and wisdom do an even better job of that so I've never needed them. For rougher terrain, I take a KTM or mountain bike! The SR isn't even stripped down anymore, auto lights, dual climate control, tinted windows, Carplay, keyless, etc.

I baby my vehicles, including my OR. I'd be super pissed if I broke something or scratched something going off-road.

I fall into the “Just in case” category. I have a hidden winch, on board air, etc, but I just use my truck like a tool box. It can do lots of suff, but I don’t off road at all.

    but i could……………

I think no EV Maverick because they can't get the supplies, the F-150 is their bread and butter and there is already like a 3 year wait for the Lightning.

Got a smoking deal from my brother on his 2016 trd 4x4 or, he hated the truck after a year and 16k miles, went back to driving his 1998 with 220,000. Probably won’t off road as I have a jk rubicon for that.
