I got the long nipple (giggle) too! lol

I thought the short one would pop off too easy but the ridge on the lip of the valve secures very well.

I still managed to make a mess on the TRD Skid with the oil pan bolt...I have to improve my method and move the bolt quickly so it drains directly into the oil catch...and not on the inside portion of the skid. errr!

Isn't it just cheaper to get it done professionally? Your time vs someone else doing it

When things go wrong, and they do, having someone else can get very expensive quickly.

To many dipshits work at the dealer and oil change quick lube places these days to trust them to do a simple job. Ain't many "professionals" out there. Master techs are not changing your oil, the dumb mouth breathers are.

IF you can find a professional to do it.

Lots of times it's the new junior mechanic that's tasked with simple jobs.

My new/used Tacoma was in for a warranted part replacement that was really just an adjustment (Sir, it appears the first technician may have mis-diagnosed needing the mirror replaced, thanks for driving so far to get here anyway ...). I asked them and they said they will just drop the plate, no extra charge against you for that, to change oil.

Now as to "do they do it right?", no experience.

I am looking to purchase the TRD skid plate and had a question regarding the hole size for the oil drain plug. Does anyone know how big the hole is? (giggity) I have the fumoto drain valve so I'm not worried about spilling oil. I'm just wondering if I can get my hand up there to open the valve. :notsure:
