Since we have pretty much hijacked this thread, and we are on the topic of fullsize, anyone see any of the new Titans running around? I think I have seen one?

Well I won't judge looks of ranger till it arrives. But I don't think the gm twins are ugly at all just like the tacoma looks inside and out better. I feel same way about the tundra. Especially the interior. Like the clean layout

I think some of the new GM trucks are nice looking, if not over the top. I would never buy one. Dodge? Never, hideous. Great diesel in the big trucks though.

I feel Ford has the best trucks.

People buy the Rams for the Cummins engine. Or they got a great deal on them.

It just shows, all of this is subjective, and the very stiff competition in the full size market keeps everyone in line. Those dollars are very important to the big three. Toyota needs a kick in the pants when it comes to the Taco, hopefully the new Ranger does the trick and forces them to up their game.

Toyota has gotten a kick in the pants with the Tundra and it's way over due for a replacement. Who knows what they will do when the Ranger comes out.

My dad has a 16 or 17 I forget. 4wd great truck. Transmission costantly shifts my only complaint.

The previous gen Ford Ranger was good looking to me, as it had very utilitarian styling. I liked that about it. Ford makes good looking full size pickups as well. Toyota struggles with that. The Tundra looks like a scrotum rolling down the highway, IMHO, but lotsa guys love em.

I know there are various opinions, but unless the new Ranger is a complete mess, it will put a dent in Taco sales and force Toyota to step it up. The GM twins will not do it. The drivability in the V6 Auto is questionable at best, having zero torque down low in a truck is unforgivable. We also have a 2013 Avalon, big, heavy 3.5 Auto.. It gets much better fuel mileage in all conditions, 10+ better, and perceived torque down low. Pretty damn quick for a big ass car. Don't tell me Toyota could not have done the same with the Taco..

OV tuned has proven that their is power in the engine. Toyota could have done a better job with the engine ands transmission tuning.
The Jeep Scrambler will also sell well. Toyota will lose market share in the midsize market but the midsize market is also expected to grow in the next few years.

Curious, why do you think the Jeep will sell well? I have not heard much about it.

No doubt the 3.5 has the HP, ..trucks need torque down low.

I've seen a few around, but actually running around as opposed to parked/hood-opened... not too many.

    C&D's has similar experiences:

People like the looks of the Wrangler which also sells very well. They will be capable Off Road. Probably will be the most capable midsize off road. Also will be offering a Diesel engine.

The ones up to the current gen maybe. The current Tundra looks bloated with way too much chrome up front.

Yeah, that's coming from a Sport owner!
