I'm looking at buying one in the spring. Magnetic Supercab XLT with the Sport Appearance Package. Fantastic looking truck. I really like that they made it look like a small super duty.

Toyota Resale value kicks the shit out of ford and gm. I'll always buy Toyota for that reason alone. That and there vehicles just feel sturdier and sturdier for longer.

Drive any ford or Chevy, (which I have a lot because who i work for has huge fleet of trucks)and the drive feels different, the suspension loosens, etc under 100k miles. Ive driven tundras with over 200k that, at the least, feel like new as far as suspension and drivetrain go.

Its A simple fact, and everyone knows it, which is why resale for the tundra and Tacoma destroys all other trucks.

Not in my experience. Might have been true a decade ago. But Ford (not sure about GM) is putting out a solid product these days--specifically the F150. It felt as well put together as my '17. Resale is excellent as well, but definitely not as good as a Toyota. But resale value is not at the top of my list for vehicle purchases, either.

Truck resale is plain stupid right now, the 20-30k mile creampuffs are within $3k of new. Tacos are the same way, I don't see the point of buying used.

I have had my F-150 for 12 years, it is 15 years old and it has 160k miles on it. It needs the original shocks replaced but drives like it did when I got it 12 years 140k miles ago.

Trying to paint the picture that other trucks match the resale value is Wong.

I don't know if you're trying to fool yourself or other people, but its not true.

Stop it... you are giving me the fever. :) Was thinking about trading next year but I just saw a guy at the gas station that made me feel good about my little black 4 popper.

Gm makes the best looking full size. I think Ford makes the better truck.

i agree some resale doesn't matter they keep there truck long time. To me that puts on 30k plus a yr and trades every 2 it is a factor to think about

Resale will always be better on the Tacoma than an F150 simply due to the fact that Ford sells a ton more F150s than Toyota sells Tacomas.

This means that the used lots will ALWAYS have more F150s available and the used shopper has a much wider selection and dealers have to sell lower.

If they don't like the used price at one dealer they'll just cross the street and look at a different used F150.

And regarding looks, my vote goes to the Raptor.

Yes I know it's as wide as a dump truck and impractical for any narrow trail, but dang if it isn't a mean looking piece of machinery.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
They should ask for a refund then because their trucks suck. ;)

Nope. Stray cats love sitting on my tires under the arched fender flares on my Tacoma when it rains.

That and the fact that the steering wheel is significantly offset from the driver's seat.

A lot of vehicles are slightly off. I think my Tacoma is. But the GM one is significantly off, to the point where I notice it while driving.

I don't really care, I keep them forever anyway. The value of a 20yo truck with 200k that was used as a truck is pretty universal. My truck drives great, I am not trying to kid anyone.

My point was trucks in general are not seeming to depreciate as much as they used to.

FWIW when you buy used and plan on running them forever, retaining value is kind of a turnoff. If I wanted to buy a new truck I might as well buy a new truck...
