So looking for a way to setup a MagSafe charger. Inside and on top of the qi charger space. I bought a 30 watt usb adapter for the available power outlet and the MagSafe works there.
I know I can just Velcro it but wanted to see if I could make it look like it belongs. Wondering if anyone here does custom 3D printing orders?

To hopefully make it look nicer than this one that they make for a Subaru.

    TIA.

I just found out that a lot of local libraries have 3D printers available. You bring the design and they will print it. You only pay for the material. How cool is that! Who knew?

That would be awesome. I’m going to call tomorrow. Only problem I see with that, is that I’m a brute. Lol. I can use tools, fix a computer.. but designing something would suck like my drawings.. but I’m going to check what detail they would require.

What is the diameter and thickness of the magsafe puck? What is the cord diameter?
With that info I could work up a preliminary design.
I don't sell stuff, just love to design in SolidWorks.

I did this at my local library and the results were pretty terrible. It was free in my case, so no big loss, just wanted to throw it out there.

That looks like I can work with it.
Do you know the length and width of the qi charging area in the Tacoma?

    Nice work, thanks!
I will try to get something worked up on my lunch break tomorrow. Might have to stay a little late to finish.
    Couple more questions:
Does the Magsafe puck hold your phone from sliding around?
Where would the Magsafe puck need to be located on the adapter panel?
Should I try to stay below the 1 inch height threshold or go higher and make an indentation for the phone?
What file type would be most useful for you? .stl?

It's magnetic, so the puck should hold it from sliding around.

    Got it.
Does it hold in the center of the phone, or is it offset from the center?

The MagSafe is magnetic. So the phone won’t move. It should be around the middle. The back of the qi tray is under one inch. One of the tape pictures shows the measurement. And the back wall starts to slant inward from where the tape begins. So I think it needs to be under one inch but keeping the MagSafe from touching the qi tray. Just in case, for safety reasons. And I’ll probably use museum potty to hold the puck in its indentation, so I’ll need a little dept.

And no idea on file type. This is my first looking into 3D printing. So I guess whatever is more common or easier to work with.

And the cable would have to come out in the front right side. The cable is attached to the puck.

    Excellent.
I will design the adapter to be .75" high and the indentation for the puck .25" deep to give you room for adhesive. That will give you .5" clearance from the qi charger. I will probably put a .5" chamfer around the bottom edges to clear the radiused edges. I will leave a cavity in the bottom for extra cable as well.

PM me your email and I will send you the file of the model as a SolidWorks file (.sldprt), a commonly used filetype for 3d printing (.stl) and any other filetype you request that SolidWorks can generate.
