Be careful reaching down to turn the heat up in your new Taco...... You just might put into 4 high!

I never do that, but I do reach to push the 4wd area to turn the truck on.

I always only did that one time on different occasions multiple days of the year yesterday right now. But only that two times and that was it.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I may or may not have done that while going down the hwy at 60 mph. :anonymous: Would have been nice if they gave the Tacoma the same lever that the 4 runner has. Or at least something that's not right next to the fan controls that also looks and feels the same.

Sounds like you need to put the spiked eggnog down VROD... That was hard to read.

I done it a couple times the first week after trading my 2wd 2016 in for a 2017 4wd.

...but it didn't sound like 4wd actually engaged.. Can it engage while in drive?

I have also turned the truck off while still in 4wd a couple times... Not sure if that could create problems or not. Noticed no issues.

The 3rd gen has the 4wd selector right beside the air conditioning knob, same type of knob.. So if you're not paying attention, or not used to it being there, it's easy to turn the wrong knob...

This thread would pair nicely with the thread that complains all the switches are different sizes and shapes.

The chaps at Toyota just can’t win.....it’s a really tough crowd: Make ‘em the same....they hate it....make ‘em different...they hate it....no switches.....they hate it.....more switches.....they hate it.

Hey i love my tacoma...The only thing i have ever complained about is there being 500 cup holders but none big enough for a mason jar...

The 4wd selector knob just took me getting use to it being there... No issues...

    I'm on my third 3rd gen... I have no real complaints... I have had 2016 4cyl 2wd, 2016 v6 2wd, and now 2017 v6 4x4... All of them were great trucks... I totaled the 4cyl... And then traded the 2016 v6 2wd for a 2017 4x4. No regerts!

I wish Tacomas still had the transfer shift lever and Manual hubs.
