Has anyone tried disabling the passenger seatbelt reminder buzzer? I can't stand putting something on the seat and having to buckle it up. I would guess that it's just a switch that closes when weight is put on it.

Mine just goes off after a minute or so...I don't believe it comes back on...but if it does, my hearing is not what it used to be.

Techstream or Carista can be used to turn it off. Or buy one of those buckle clips off eBay.

I turned mine off with Carista. You can also use Tech Stream I believe. And I've even heard that some dealers will turn if off if you have cool enough people there, ha.

TechStream will take care of the buzzer, but the key in and 4Lo chimes finally got the best of me and I cut off the speaker. Sooooo much nicer.

I asked the dealer to turn my seatbelt chime off but they wouldn't so I bought the cheap little metal clip to plug into the seatbelt when making frequent stops in and out (usually at my lake property). No light, no audible signal, works well.

Seat belt buckles cut from a wrecked car, I think it was a Ford Escape. I use them when in and out of the truck when working... Always wear my belt when on the roads...

This is what we used to do when we delivered pizza. The pizza and soda on the passenger seats was usually enough to trip the alarm, so drivers would get buckles from wrecked cars and just plug them in.

I had a dealer turn mine off. Kept going off when I would put my lunch bag on my passenger seat or my dog sat in it.

If your truck is constantly beeping while in 4lo, you're not actually in 4lo. That's the truck yelling at you that one of the 3524 steps to engage 4lo wasn't followed.

Yup. But, mine also would give three beeps sometimes, even with a solid and successful engagement. It was the tipping point.

Now, it is a joy to sit at long stoplights with the turn signal flashing away and leaving the radio on with the door open loading and unloading stuff.

My dealer said they couldn’t disable it due to liability so I called corporate and got a case opened. Once I told the service writer that I had a case # they disabled the chime for me

My dealer disabled it. They said they couldn't find it and I pressed politely. They were concerned about liability, I showed them where it was an option in the manual as an option from Toyota. They ended up writing it up as changing the turn signals.
