So long story short.. I bent my drivers door back a bit past where its supposed to go, marked up the door slightly, but more importantly.. it broke the welded/captive nut for the door check.

Now the door check is loose, so it makes that awful click/clack sound when opening and closing, and I can't tighten it. I also can't remove the bolt to put in a nutsert and solve the problem.

Does anyone know if there is any way to access that welded nut for the door check? If I start pulling interior panels, is there a small window I can get a wrench/socket/something in there? Or pull the fender liner? Or do I have to pull the entire fender? Or is it maybe not even accessible without cutting a window somewhere...

I've never seen one of these trucks apart and can't seem to find any pictures out there.
