Wow, you posted this question 6 months ago and no answers. So, sorry to bump an old thread but

I did a 1" body lift on my 2006 Access Cab to minimize the amount of cutting needed in the front to fit 35" tires and provide enough space in the rear wheel well for 14" shocks on custom shock hangers. With the 1" body lift and 35" tires, the body required no cutting but the the plastic front fender flares still rubbed, so . Keep in mind that a suspension lift does not prevent rubbing when the suspension is completely compressed. Also, to run 35" tires, I still had to cut the frame (at the cab mount behind the front tire) & re-gear.

I had that setup for 15 years with no issues.

Body lifts fell out of favor because they do nothing for the 3rd gens, afaik. The limiting factor for tires are the cab mount plate and occasionally the front. So it's the shoulders that are rubbing, not the top. Only way around that is to chop.

If you're after a functional lift, suspension is the only way to go. If you're after an appearance lift, suspension is the easier way to go. :cookiemonster:

I guess I did both function and appearance & the appearance part was way more work.
