What’s that? Does it protect the original coating?

Yes it does. Paint protection film? It's good stuff and it'll keep em looking new for years.

Was just looking at the 3M Scotchgard Pro stuff. What did you use? Does it cover the entire headlight surface (above, below, etc.), or just the face?

It should cover about 90% of the headlight. It's obviously primarily for road debris protection, but it also is a great UV protectant. I prefer Xpel or what Llumar offers. I like to apply the PPF, and then coat the whole headlight film and all in ceramic. Lol, I might be a bit OCD though.

I’m kind of OCD. Which ceramic?

CarPro CQuartz makes some good stuff that you can order from autogeek. I prefer the non-OTC stuff though ;)

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Once you lose the oem virgin coating, you're done. You can re buff them yearly, but none of the $100 trwatments from autogeek have kept re-polished lenses from yellowing on my in a years time. FL sun, garage parked cars, waxed and maintained regularly.

    a few...
I have Xpel on all my lights since delivery (including Rigid Industries led light bars) and on paint areas upfront, hood etc. Everything still looks like new. Pricey but a great long-term investment.

Both of mine look just like yours. It seems its peeling from the inside? I couldn't feel anything with my finger tips?

Contrary to what I've done with previous trucks, I haven't waxed my former Tundra, 4R, or Tacoma...

This thread reminds me of the time a salesperson at my local dealer told me the headlights on the new Tacomas are made out of NASA grade space station window material that will never fade. Lol, what a load of garbage.

Someone needs to make a die-cut little tinted sunshade film for the top of the headlights only. Something that covers the horizontal surface of the top only but doesn't go in front of the lights. I've seen them for other cars, mostly imports. I think the top is the part that gets the most sun and is what starts fading first.
