If you need new tires, we have a new @Discount Tire on HWY 286 and I-40 in the new shopping center. The manager there really treated me right recently with outstanding customer service.

They are my go to place for tires from now on.

... just had my tires rotated at the local DT yesterday. As anticipated their tool chewed up the recently powder coated nuts on the back
i think i also caught the service writer giving a hidden chuckle and shaking his head while taking my info down and writing the plate # for the records

Because I wanted some black lug nuts, I bought some of these special lug nuts at DT with the new tires. They are holding up ok.

Though it's me that takes the wheels off every other weekend for something. So I'm the culprit. Luckily the wear doesn't seem to be noticeable.

My wife didn’t like my 2000 I had when we started dating... but that one had a 3 inch lift on 33’s, she wasn’t a fan of jumping into it, she thought the xtra cab was too small, and it was a 5 speed so she couldn’t drive it. E6CF3F90-2D86-477C-B5AA-BA193A65EABB.jpg

I got a 2004 double cab last January and she didn’t like it the first time she drove it because of the camper shell. She doesn’t mind driving it now that its off, but she still prefers her 4Runner 90947C38-4912-412A-A2A2-12DAC25BFE4F.jpg

Ya I haven’t drove another Tacoma yet but I’m guessing mine is cause of the tires. Unless they all ride that way. They haven’t been rotated in a while and 10 ply so it kills the ride for these lightweight trucks. I’m sure original suspension doesn’t help either

My wife and her whole family hates it. She hates it because she thinks I spent more time working on it than with her. Aslo the in laws worked for for GM up in Detroit and moved down to Tennessee when Saturn opened. Worked for GM their whole career. Brother in law works for a GMC dealership. Her Grandfather also retired from Ford. They are all die hard UAW supporters. So anything other than a car made by the big 3 is a junk vehicle and no ammount of logic is changing that. In the beginning they made me park on the street when I came to visit because they didn't want a Japanese shit box in thier driveway.
Other than that I love them to death and they have helped me out on many occasions. So don't think they hate my guts and treat me like shit over my choice of truck. They are just constantly ragging on the truck. It's annoying as fuck. Haha

Sorry not sorry you have taste? The bf's brother has a Chevy that's having all kinds of troubles right now... You couldn't tell me that a Ford Ranger, GMC Sonoma, or Chevy S-10 was anywhere near the craftsmanship of a Taco of similar year... Just look at the asking price for a '00 Toyota vs other brands.

I'll never own another Ford or Chevy again... Closest we have is a Saab 9-7X that's our winter driver/towing vehicle. And it sits 85% of the year

My wife loves my new Taco. She hated driving my full size ram. It was too big. (that's what she said)

That makes no sense, your Tacoma was made by UAW members at the NUMMI plant in the U.S., co-owned by GM and Toyota.

Oh, I know. But they don't want to listen to that logic. They will usually come back with "but the money doesn't stay in the U.S." I've learned to just let it go.
You come with all the facts on your side, but they just dont wanna listen.
This is a short video of a conversation with my father-in-law about Toyota's.My wife is the one in the middle. Haha

i have noticed that most S-10s and Sonomas have disappeared around here, I still see a fair amount of old Rangers (some in very nice outer condition and some not.) Lots of Dakota's too but they have some serious body rot for the ones I see. And Nissan's are a gem I guess if you can spot one out there

my sister's husband is a mopar or nothing guy and they have probably went through six or more used Chryslers in the 2+ decades I have had my Tacoma. He can do most of the repair work on them with his skillset but they do have a PTCruiser convertible that my sister really liked that is just sitting in the street for many years now and they are not sure what is wrong with it.

Wish I could get the wife to go crawling with me. I've taken her one time and she flipped out and started crying thinking we were going to flip. Haha
That's when I learned my wife isnt an adrenaline junky.

I love how these threads always bring out the...."Well, time to get new wife". I have sold cars in the past because my wife hated them and didnt have the time or space to just keep it because. No longer spend as much time or money on motorcycles as I used to because I prefer to spend that time with my wife. Honestly, I understand the lack of fondness for some of those things from her perspective. These threads and the how much did you pay threads seem to be an exercise in pointless lying and ego...just saying.

Honestly, when I was 25, given the choice between my wife and a car I owned, I probably (stupidly) would have chosen my car. My wife was smart enough to not put 25 year old me in that position. Now in my 30's, I would choose my wife every time. Only thing that has changed is me and realizing that I can go buy a shitbox vw golf anytime I want, but have a lot more invested in my marriage.

To answer the OP- my wife doesnt like my tacoma. She doesnt like that its a manual (which is pretty much my favorite part). She tolerates it because she knows I like it. If she pushed the envelope, I would probably sell it. It's just a truck.
