OK, I got ya now. And just so you know, Speedliner uses Dupont Kevlar as well. AND has a higher UV protection, AND a higher tensile strength, AND resists fade longer. Independent lab testing proved it. ..... Just sayin'

Oh. Does that put me on probation?
I just think this is a silly argument...or rather some of the points are silly. Like about the gas mileage due to the weight of a bedliner vs mat.

A small handful of select mods.
I use my truck bed to haul stuff. So it is going to get F*ed up. Mat is perfect. If I recall correct things like LineX and Herc were originally designed to protect metal beds because when you scrape off paint stuff rusts. We do not have issue on 2nd Gens. IMO.

I gotta say their stencils look awesome. I am going to have to look into that so I can offer stencils with my liner product as well. Would be a nice selling point!

It does certainly set this particular shop apart from the rest.

You might see a big bump in business down there if you just offered one...

Start rattle canning the bed might be an issue on resale. Hiding a crack? This diy can and will effect the overall ambience of the truck. To keep high resale value, buy o.e.m.

If you use the bed to haul mulch, dirt, gravel, etc. you don't want the bed mat. If you tend to haul objects then the bed mat is for you plain and simple.

I am a bit confused about your post. We are not only referring to rattle-can types. We are discussing all types, from Rattle can to roll on, to full Spray-in bedliners, versus the bed mats and plastic liners. What were you referring to when you stated "To keep high resale value, buy o.e.m"?

I know what you mean. I used to rotate different animated gif sigs, but I got such a response from this one that I decided to keep it.

These composite beds are definitely slick. If mine starts to look like shit, I wouldn't hesitate getting it LineX'd. The bed in my 2001 Silverado looked like new after 11 years, and I hauled everything from gravel to concrete to sheet metal. I've spilled gasoline, oil and all kinds of crap on it. Just take it to the car wash and hose it out. I just had my Nfab step bars LineX'd. If they think it will stick, that's good for me. I would trust their opinion. Bed mats can be a real pain for stuff like gravel and dirt. IMHO, they are too sticky and make it too hard to slide items in and out. I've had drop-in liners, bed mats and LineX. LineX was by far the best. I can't speak for the cheap diy products, but LineX is an excellent product.

Remember too, that LineX is not the only professional bedliner out there. I use Speedliner, and to be honest, they have shown to have better qualities than the others in the independent lab testing. But again, some people are product-loyal, and LineX IS a quality product. Just not the ONLY product.
