Totally means the 2GR-FKS is the most robust v6 ever put into a Toyota truck

Mine had catastrophic engine damage because I went up a steep hill.

I felt much better after I sold it.

In all fairness the 2gr-fks will outlive any other late model v6 with direct injection only. Toyotas d4s will certainly keep these v6 engines running for the long haul but that doesn’t mean they aren’t flawed with other expensive annoyances that will eventually require repair.

Hated it at first, (also hated the 3G when it first came, still think the grill is too big) but it has marinated a bit and grown on me, can still see the evolution of the 3G design in there. Though think they did a better job with the new Land Cruiser design-wise. Like one is built for young men who still live with their parents, the other for mature adults that live in a 55 and over community, and that have a daily regimen of Metamucil… lol!

I think the 3rd gen has a better track record then the first month of the 4th gen and its early on. That’s something definitely to judge ;)

That's a horrible idea. What time?
OK, after I practiced some reading comprehension skills, I see it. And agree. I've done very little to the cosmetic side of the interior. I've gotten rid of a little "chrome", changed the stick handle, and added a little inferno. But I do like the overall set up. The extra room they've created in the '24 would be nice, but not yet...

With the increasing aerodynamics and EPA regs, I think it won't be long till we're all driving bullet shaped cars.

How would you define long term use? The oldest 3rd gen is only 7 years old.

Yeah, I just rolled over 87k miles in my '16 - no issues other than the normal V6 / AT general malaise.

I think any one buying a first gen anything has to be prepared for issues. Always wait for the update.

I would guess longer than the first month of ownership in a 4th gen would qualify for long term success.Long term Notes can be taken and put in the glove box if it will stay shut :D
