    Eh, quite different

Note how the new one is not doing anything that visibly voids warranty or provides imminent risk of death

Yeah pretty much just doing donuts in the dunes.

Surprised no shots of the console handle, they seemed pretty proud of it in the press releases.

I still have my 1991 Toyota Truck, and no plans to be rid of it.
I drive the old one when it rains, and the new one when it is sunny.

Well, 2nd gen owners keeping their ride after all the 3rd gen complains, and now taking their 2nd generation to get some reconditioning and keeping them forever.

Just like those brave 16-17 owners buying the first model year of “reimagined” transportation. Some people like to test new things and this a lot of changes. That’s what a warranty is for. I say let them enjoy it. I feel rested knowing my coolant bypass will fail eventually.

Watching from the outside it has been a little comical...if being honest. I remember 2nd gen having similar concerns about the 3rd gens. Back in the day it was similar in 2005 as well when going to the 2nd gen.

Well you're old enough to experience a day or two in one of those. We used a 40 for years in Montana hunting. It went where you pointed it, but lord forbid you where the dumbass that was in the jump seats all day getting in and out (that was this guy).

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I saw and commented on your other thread about the bullshit. As I said then, thank you for your service. Mine ended medically (fortunately / unfortunately?) before the first round in the Gulf. Enjoy your therapy, take your time. While being slightly envious of your trip, I'm glad your doing it.

Take a good look under the hood for serviceability. I will be the first to tell you I am not a skilled mechanic. But I should be able to to change spark plugs and do a basic tune up. My 2007 F150 had the 5.2L V8. Loved the truck. But some genius at Ford ran the gas rails directly over the spark plugs so you couldn't even get to the coil packs. And you needed a special tool to get to one of the plugs because it was buried near the firewall. I grew up ford, dad retired there. But after that and the Focus Fiasco Edition, I'm done with Ford and probably the domestic market in general. As mentioned somewhere above, I've grown tired of the vehicle sounding like there's a half empty bucket of bolts bouncing around somewhere. 127k miles and my heat shields are still intact and not rattling.

kinda like the poor SOBs that have to ride in my AC. :p lol!

Oh we grew up riding around in bed of pickups, jump seats would have been a luxury!

Miss those old interiors, could climb in and out covered in filth and not worry at all about screwing them up. Even my base model SR is so nice I am super careful trying not to muck it up, will even change out of my dirty clothes to drive, it is still kinda newish, trying to keep it somewhat nice.

it’s a pick your poison these days, take it you haven’t change the plugs in your taco yet. Yeah Ford was shit there for awhile, good friend of mind is a senior Ford tech, they have several vehicles in the 250-300K range that haven’t needed much other than fluid changes.

Not sure if you read up on the problems on new Tundra. Thought about getting one of those, but I don’t know.

Feel like it is a total crap shoot anymore with all the manufacturers.
