Or just try and avoid being pulled over. Lol.

The map light non existence sucks but I never really use my glove box so it’s all good. Good place to store my 300 manuals though. :)

How is trying to avoid an issue with the Popo’s a banned area of info. I think it is good info and nothing wrong with stating facts. Keep your hands visible state if u have a CCL let them know and no probs.

P.S. Oh and don’t break the law if u can help it.

the way of the Tacoma is to fix the problems you find, not merely to complain about them. this truck is super mod friendly...

$20. stick on install. no wiring. looks great. magnet switch activation. i have them in amber in my glovebox and center console both. very happy with them.

That’s what it starts as but things turn political and this is just a thread about a light in a glove box.

This. I don’t live in a war zone and won’t act as if I do, for anyone. Especially if they didn’t war zone with me.

My new std. 81 Toyota pickup had no:

    Day/night on the mirror
Passenger door open switch to turn on center light
    Wiper speed
    Floor mats
    Cup holders
    Head rests
    Cigarette/ 12 volt jack
    No radio at all
    Clock
    Trip odometer
    A/C
    Locking gas cap/door
    Rear bumper
    Right side mirror
Hood springs to hold up hood - like my 2016 now.

This is back when the SR was the high end model.

However I did have it for 230k miles untill the wiring started to rot away.

How have these held up over time? I have the hardwired flyezye for my 2nd gen dash but I thought about getting a pair of these a while back. Always nice to have some extra light, and nice they are battery operated. I’m about tired of wire tapping into stock circuitry.

    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
It wont get locked, its a legitimate safety point I mentioned- I used to work late nights in San Bernardino and probably looked suspicious due to the type of clothing and equipment we had in our work truck (gas tanks , protective gear, and test equipment). So we had cops comming up to us on a almost weekly basis, and I quickly learned the safest routine- never move when they pull you over, hands on wheel, follow directions, ask permission to reach for something if needed, and if you are in a lease truck with a broken glove box light, NEVER reach into it without getting permission first.

Edit: just read JDevTac’s last reply above - you are right, lets just not get political. I really just meant the comment as just a safety suggestion.

Now back to more important issues with it - how do you keep all those manuals from falling out when you open it? I stopped keeping mine in there and just downloaded a PDF version of it to my phone. Now just the maps and assorted tools fall out. ;)

Glad I am not the only one that has my sunglasses fall out, it also takes 2 hands to close it when you try to put your glasses back up, lol.

well, they're like $20 or so in simplicity, and probably quality both. they are a bit fragile so they need to be out of the way, which isn't an issue in either location. i had one fail, emailed them, and i had a new one in the mail 4-5 days later no charge. no issues since in about 9 months.
