Anyone else get color envy?

I think it's just human nature to always be looking. And with today's prices, maybe you could do a trade without losing too much. But I think you're sitting just pretty with CB, what a great color!

YEP. I test drove an army green OR before I test drove my truck (which is black). I reealllyyyy wanted army green. Like, really bad. But I couldn’t justify the $9K price difference just for the color especially because I was looking for an SR5, not an OR.

I'm in the same boat with the AG color envy.

When I started wanting a Tacoma, back during 2nd gen times, I liked MGM the best (or whatever the dark gray was called).
After my (british racing green) mini cooper blew up and I started shopping Tacomas in July 2020, I was between MGM and Cement but sad that an AG Pro didn't fit my budget.
I knew AG would probably be available for non-Pros for the 2021 model year, but I didn't think I could wait the extra few months paying for a rental car.
In hindsight, my car payments are more than the monthly rental fee so I should have held out a little longer. But I was also eager to get into a Tacoma and out of the Nissan Rogue rental.

Now that I have my mini cooper almost back to driveable again, it sure would be cool to have two matching green vehicles.

And my avatar pic would be a lot cooler (to me) if the colors matched on these two pics taken 3 years apart.

 

I originally wanted inferno but it was not available in 2019. I did not appreciate Calvary blue and cement until I saw it in person.
I love the army green.

 

Last year, about the time when inventory was moving towards zero I became seriously interested in the Taco.

First color choice was cement but they were nowhere to be found.
I really like the Calvary Blue but it wasn't available in 2021.
I didn't like the Red or Army Green however they have really grown on me over the year and right now I'd be happy to have either.

I thought the Metallic Gray was nice looking but the wife didn't like it.

When I found the exact configuration I wanted, V6 / 4WD / Access Cab there were only sixty in the entire country at that time and one
of them was 15 miles away, the only ONE in the entire state, 15 miles away, Super White.

I test drove it, liked it, bought it.

 

I really wanted white and my wife (who's usually right) said get the MGM. Right after that I bought an MGM and read about some bad white paint......

 

I was the opposite. If I couldn't get AG I wanted MGM. The dealer only had a white off-road on the lot and my girlfriend said "Just get the white, so we don't have to wait." It only took an extra week or so for them to get an MGM.

 

I have the SSM now, but I don’t mind having a Wind Chill Pearl with matte black trims.
Lunar rock is okay too, or the Army green.
Heck, I like ‘em all as long as they’re tacos!

 

Just throwing out some bait for color envy. AG looks great with mud splatters

 

My truck is cement…. I really wanted a voodoo blue, and I’ve seen some black ones that I like a lot, also red looks good too, but I guess I’ll stick with cement.

 

Love my MGM but I'm always eying cement gray, army green, and calvary blue. Love how they look and the additional contrast you get with black components on those colors.

 

I remember seeing his commercials as a kid growing up in SoCal/LA.

As for the topic, I like Midnight Black...except during the beginning of Spring when all the pollen and bird poop seem to find my Sport. lol

 

Black was my first choice and always will be, but they didn't have one on the lot and I didn't want to dealer trade. I liked Inferno a lot too, but only when it was in the sun and thought I'd get tired of it. Barcelona red metallic for the same reasons. Ultimately chose MGM, because it had 2 miles on the odo and had only been on the lot one week. Still like the color. Especially when it looks really dark in the shade or when the sun hits the metallics just right.
