Anyone else get color envy?

I want one of every color!

 

I have Lunar Rock, so of course not!

 

I don’t, but I have been the object of others envy. Everyone knows Quicksand is the best color, scientific studies confirm it. It’s as if this color has its own gravitational pull. Yup, that’s it... gravity.

 

I wanted cement, cavalry blue or quicksand. But by the time I was finally ready to buy, Toyota made that choice easy because they discontinued cav blue and quicksand. So I got cement, which was actually my first choice anyway. And I’m glad I got it when I did because they discontinued cement the next year! Why you keep droppin all the best colors Toyota??

 

When I started seriously thinking of moving from my Gen 1 to a Gen 3, Flame was my favorite color.. And then.....Army Green. I fell in love from the minute I saw it - of course, I'm an old Army guy so how could I resist? I was fortunate to have had a friend at a dealership and was able to grab their only AG Pro allocation for 2020. I love this truck.

 

Why would I get envy?

Mine is black and black is the best color.

 

I love the dark green paint and the black rims fit in nicely.

 

I wish mine was in Lunar Rock. Not sure if they have that color in 2020.
At the time it was between Cement and Red... I went with Cement.

 

Big time color envy for me. Barcelona Red is one of those colors that A) have to be seen in person to be appreciated, so it doesn't photograph particularly well, and B) changes color constantly depending on light and level of dirtyness.

I love the color some days, wish I had another on other days. It is what it is. I bought it because I got a good deal on it. $34,600 for a brand new, loaded off-road was too good a deal. Colors I wanted (in 2018) were Cement or Calvary Blue, but the CB was the pro color that year.

 

LR was the limited edition color for 2021 - AG was the 2020 color.

 

Kinda. I like my black limited. Parts of me wish I would have gotten a loaded off-road or pro, tho. Oh well.

 

I think if I had the choice to do it all over again I'd have gotten an AG OR

 

Nope. Chose Super White specifically so i can wash it only twice a year.

 

Absolutely love my Lunar Rock so far. Only had it for a couple weeks now, but had to wait over 7 months for it from when I placed my first allocation request. The only colors I would have considered over LR would be Cement or Cav Blue, but seeing as how neither were available in 22, my choice was pretty easy.

 

My previous truck was Cement, it was my first color choice back then and I loved it. 6 months later, they came out with AG and I definitely had color envy.
I was lucky to find a Army Green Off-Road last summer, only had to wait a couple weeks for delivery. No more color envy. I do miss the stick, though...

 

Is is funny to see LR come-up so dramatically in desirability overall. I remember all the 'baby puke' color comments as the first few Tacos came out!



I guess it is to be expected!

 

I got MGM and I really like it especially in on the sun. When the sun hits it the color looks really nice to me. I would have gotten Calvary Blue, but in 2018 when I got mine it only came on the Pro.

My wife gave mine a love tap the other day pulling into our driveway . I said that she gave me a reason to wrap it at some point in Calvary Blue .

 

I had a white 1st Gen TRD for many years. Last fall I upgraded to a ‘21 MGM TRD Sport. I love the new truck, but every time I see a white 3rd Gen TRD Off-road I get a little urge. Just something about the white/black stormtrooper look that I love

 

Wow that red looks really nice. Wish there was a full picture of the truck to get a better idea of how it looks

 

At dinner tonight the fiancee spotted a Cav blue and remarked on what a pretty color it was. Then she said she couldn't see me driving one and that she liked my "sparkly gray truck."
