it’s been covered earlier in the thread but so far, early built 22s don’t seem to be affected

Like somebody asked, what problem with rear diff? Find out before doing “Lemon Law,” whatever.
Good to know. Where did you find information? Quality Control crap.

As stated previously… NHTSA. Safety is a bit more than quality control. But so be it in your world…

Just checked mine, 2023 built in August. Quite a bit of weld splatter on both sides. Didn't remove the nuts, just checked
to make sure they were tight. Not touching anything and letting toyota deal with it once they make the announcement. Checked the recall website and my vehicle was
listed. Once I get a notice Ill take it in.

went for the blackout package this time
checked my VIN on toyota.ca and I'm on the recall list, built in January 23. Haven't got a letter yet or heard from the dealer, just saw it on my Toyota app.

Had my 5000 mile service today and was informed that I would be getting the recall for the axle shaft problem. Mine was made at the end of 23.

Okay I somewhat get it. I don’t what is in my world, but I go wait until I get the recall notice in my mail.
Had some people on YouTube, the way they talk about axle recall, blow things out of proportion. But not getting to it now.

I've done several rear axle wheel bearing/seal jobs on various Toyota trucks. Tacoma included.

I am a really big proponent of using a torque wrench, I own several Snap-On brand. I have never used torque wrench on these 4 nuts. It's gutten tight, and off she goes.

If there is no weld spatter under the nut mounting surface, then there should be no issue.

Had my 5000 service yesterday (+ oil change), and they said the tech re-torqued the bolts. The receipt said, “fix not yet available!”
