Nah - that's how they used to build them. Everyone wants "quiet" brakes these days. I wanna hear em. Just like my truck that lasted 300,000 miles did.
Everyone wants "quiet" transmissions and they don't "wanna feel the vehicle shift" (ala CVT) - nah man, i want that sucker to BANG into gear - as long as it's sturdy...I'll take a little NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) any day of the week.

Just checked the Toyota recall site, and our 2023 Tacoma got this...
"There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle."

I'll be keeping an eye out for any letter that get sent out.

    Cheers

Yup. The US built ones never had a recall ever. At all. Never.

At 2800 miles I had my first oil change, when giving the service writer at the Toyota dealership my information he said that there’s a potentially dangerous wire on my airbag ,they didn’t have any in stock and the car rental company was closed so they wouldn’t KEEP my vehicle until they could get one in to replace it. So WTF they can do that? What’s next ! the recall squad repops your rig right out of your driveway? Send lawyers guns and money.

They can't keep your vehicle without providing you alternate transportation.

Also, that has nothing to do with this recall.

You are correct sir,it doesn’t have anything to do with this recall. It’s just when I see red I feel I have to go after it, like a bull you know.

While my ‘16 or ‘18 didn’t make it a year without something getting recalled, the ‘23 actually had a spotless record, until today.

    That’s it. Parting it out.

Anyone know if this applies to both the large and small versions of the rear axle? I thought the OR had a larger rear….

Or does the recall affect a part that is common to both?
