I have an appt for mine next week. I have check and I can see many of the registration marks on the nuts are still aligned from the factoring marking.

Got mine checked yesterday and all is well. It took me 2 hours and 5 minutes for them to check the recall, clock spring recall, 1st oil change and inspection. No splatter and no new hardware.

Like everything, depends on where you live. My dealer doesn't have the number of customers like others. In for the 10K service (oil and tires) along with what ended up being 3 axle nuts. In at 730 driving away at 815. Must've had a pit crew working on mine.

Took mine in the other day. The nanny nag screen in the truck wouldn't go away until I called the dealer when it came up. They said it was checked and had no issues.

Visited Larry Miller in Peoria, AZ to get a second key fob. Yesterday, 10 May 2024. While they were making up the fob and key, they also did the inspection. All Okay.

Any updates on this recall? Anyone got told they’re getting a new back end? Just curious because I’ve been sent the notice but never got around to scheduling a meet with the dealership. Just trying to see what the news is out there.

I didn't get the recall as a letter. But Larry Miller Toyota performed the inspection while making me a new key fob. Found no problems.

Thought I’d share my experience around the recall.

I received the notice on my 2022 TRD sport a few months back, and planned to have it looked into during my 2yr service - which happened yesterday.

Toyota Carlsbad had my truck for better part of the morning. Found 2 bolt in need of replacement - torqued everything down, et. Someone earlier mentioned their truck driving/tracking better

DEFINITELY my experience as well. It feels tighter, smoother when going from park drive/reverse.

Recall noticed disappeared from my Toyota app today, after I did recall at my local Toyota dealer, last month. Case closed on my 2023 Tacoma.

Got mine taken care of this morning. Was hoping I could wait for my truck but they told me it would be half a day. At least I got a shuttle back home and they also picked me up when my truck was ready.

No splatter was found (as I suspected since I had inspected and re-torqued the bolts) and they re-torqued the bolts to 41 ft·lbf

Hope the recall notice stops coming up in the truck and disappears from the app.

Interesting to hear the reports of "smoother driving" after the fix. I have yet to schedule mine, got my notice in the mail last week and have been busy. I would find it odd that even loose/damaged nuts and bolts would lead to surging or side shifting (body movement when accelerating in a turn) but if the fix is new hardware and increased torque specs, I wonder about potential diff damage/increased wear.

I noticed no difference at all in mine after replacing two nuts, and torqueing to new spec

Got mine in for the recall fix yesterday. They replaced 2 flange nuts. The part number listed is 90178-A0052. Recall notice disappeared from the app after work was done. Didn’t notice any difference in the way it drives.

From what I've heard there have been no cases of anyone's wheel coming off I think during a repair someone noticed it and Toyota ended up making a recall for it due to safety risk. FYI a lot of you getting new nuts didn't need it. The recall pays an extra .4 if you replace 1-8 nuts so a lot of techs are finding "bad nuts" so they can claim an extra .4. I think in total we've found like 6 or 7 that needed new nuts out of 100ish.

Got my inspection done this week and they hit my truck parking another and scraped up the front bumper. Now I am w/out my vehicle for a week and a half while they "fix" it. They did give me a rental Tacoma, but I'm still just pissed about the whole thing.

I got the recall too. I'm a service advisor at a "luxury" dealership. I had our Toyota store send me 8 nuts.

One of our master techs is a long time Tacoma owner. He had the recall on his '22. I'll have him just replace all of the nuts on my next oil change.

I don't care if the recall still shows on my VIN. I'm not getting any messages on my screen and I don't plan on selling the truck for many years to come.
