    Pretty much about the whole unintended acceleration fiasco. Talks about how you can be eligible and blah blah blah. Apparently I fall in it because of the last four digit of my VIN number "5749". At 4.5 years of driving my truck, I've never experience this so called problem.

    Sounds legit, but it's funny how people are just desperate for money these days.

    You need to clarify your comment... It should be "funny how LAWYERS are just desperate for money these days."

    When it's all said and done, YOU (the people), will see pennies on the dollar while the lawyers who are pushing the case will pocket millions!

    It's a MASSIVE cash grab by the lawyers. Read the settlement (page 32) http://www.toyotaelsettlement.com/pdf/SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT EXHIBITS.pdf

    Go to page 16 of the settlement. The customers effectively get an extended warranty on the

    (i) Engine Control Module;
    (ii) Cruise Control Switch;
    (iii) Accelerator Pedal Assembly;
    (iv) Stop Lamp Switch;
    (v) Throttle Body Assembly.

    Might as well keep the letter in the glovebox.

    "Thats the ticket laddie! You get on one of these big class action lawsuits and you'll be stinkin' filthy rich! Your clients will get a lot of letters in the mail and the company that they like will pay out hundreds of millions just to settle, and those clients of yours will ultimately pay the bill the next time they buy a car while we get serviced on a beach in the tropics!!! WOOO CLASS ACTION!!! HONK HONK!!!"

    Trash.

    The only winner in class action lawsuits is the legal team.

    According to their claim form, it's worth about a 150 dollars to me.

    We'll see, I guess, if that ever pans out, but it is better than a stick in the eye.

    Didn't they prove the "unintended acceleration" was nothing more than "driver error", or is the Prius thing something different?

    They never had to. Toyota settled out of court. Part of the terms of the settlement include compensation for lost resale/trade-in value due to the suit and bad press. That's why it is not restricted to just Prius owners and such.
