Happy Holidays everyone…little update on my work status.

I was terminated. Their reason: my attitude at work and the mistakes I would make in the position. Total BS.

To say I am ok mentally is an understatement. I’ve been going through all types of emotions. In many ways, I’m happy that it’s over…but also afraid of what am I going to do.

I gave them 17 years of my life to just terminate me for some nonsense. I would never do an office job ever again.
If anyone in Los Angeles is hiring, shoot your boy a dm.

Take some time for yourself and decompress. The holidays are already a lot for most. After New Years is when companies begin to hire.

Have you considered a trade and or starting a business? Painting, junk removal, drywall/insulation, handyman....

Do not worry about a negative report. Companies do not even bother with that. Find a place that interest you and drop a resume. You are going to come out ahead as well as have some quality holiday time.

    Keep us in the loop.

I like my work as a hammer swinger but recently have just been burnt out. I knew I'd get a little time off because my employer is retiring. We shook hands yesterday after my last project for him was completed. Great guy and I wish him the best. Glad I got to work under him for a bit. Now, I get to take a month off and just chill. Looking forward to it. I'll decide what's next in early Februaury.

I was totally there. Toxic people eventually wear you down until yes of course you have a bad attitude.

It isn't you. It really isn't. Sometimes people just don't click, and once it spirals there's no pulling out. I'm 9 months away from my hell, the anxiety attacks are getting further and further apart. The pay isn't perfect, but life is much better, which makes the job better.

Take the rest of the year off. You deserve it. When January hits, new you will tackle it. Not only will you get through this, but you'll surprise yourself. You'll learn that you can survive anything. And you'll look back and realize that your happier life starts today.

You got it. Good luck. Welcome to the club.

I’d love to jump into a trait or start a business. I’d take a pay cut, as long as my benefits are good.

thank you for those encouraging words. That’s what most family and friends have told me

the thing is it was never my attitude. I came in and left with positive attitude towards everyone. Even as I was being walked off the property I cracked jokes with my HR that had a part in my termination.

I kick myself cause I was never planning on staying at the company as long as I did. My endgame was being a police officer and as of 12/02…I’ve submitted my application. I am two steps in and giving it all I got to make this dream a reality. I refuse to get comfortable at a job again.

I will keep everyone posted in my progress and where I end up.

One can only hope those people who were the issue blow the engine in their vehicles on the way home or something.

As others said, decompress and hit the ground happy.

nah, I don’t wish anything negative on anyone.

I’m ready for the next chapter of my life but like most have said and what family has said as well, take the time to decompress and enjoy the little things I’ve missed cause of work.

My boss is an asshole, makes me work weekends due to poor planning, hardly any days off, expected to be available on a moments notice, takes on shitty jobs we have no business doing, too stubborn to get more employees to help out and the list goes on and on.
Some days I question why I choose to be self-employed.

I don’t mind my job most days, it’s the getting here that sucks! Longer than I want to drive for work but only 4 days a week. The irony is it is walking distance from where I grew up. 40+ years ago:bananadead:
