Bought a 2015 TRD Pro last weekend. Got an amazing deal, but I was really sketched out at first though. The truck is Silver (not a TRD Pro color). Doesn't have the black badges. Doesn't have the TRD Pro badge on the back. But it has the Bilstein suspension, has the TRD Pro grille and skidplate. It also has the TRD Sport decal on the back, and the color matched bumper like TRD sports come with...

However... When you run the truck's VIN, it returns TRD Pro. Has anyone else seen this before?

    Question.

Does it have a rear locking differential?

If not, you got duped by a sport owner who threw the TRD Pro grill n suspension on the truck.

That's a sport, not a PRO ... When I run my VIN it comes back as SR5 but I have a TRD OR, no doubt about it....

Do you have PRO headlights and leather? I thought the PRO suspension was FOX or ICON, it's definately not bilstein.

Yeah that is unfortunately a sheep in wolf's clothing.
Did the dealer represent as TRD PRO?
    I'd be upset if so.
The truck looks awesome though just saying congrats! Sweet truck!

You mentioned you got a great deal...it's possible you still got an exceptional deal as a TRD sport.

Yes the dealer represented it as a pro. I mean, the VIN says so. That's what they go by.

Yes, I did. Even if it is a Sport. Which is the reason I went ahead with the purchase. Just a little shitty feeling I guess.

You got a great looking truck man, the color and lift is killer. Maybe you can talk with the dealer, you know, just as a "heads up" to them.

    I can understand that happening.

but a TRD Sport coming back as a Pro is kind of weird, in my opinion. and I'd be kinda pissed if the purchase happened at a Toyota dealership...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Did you decode the VIN yourself? I don't recall that you could tell the trim level with the VIN.

I'd be super pissed personally if I was wanting to buy a TRD PRO and they say its a TRD PRO and I bought it... but it wasn't a TRD PRO, lol. Isn't there a rather large price difference between the TRD PRO and other trims??? IF they sold you a lesser trim for a TRD PRO trim price then I would be even more upset. The dealer should've known either way, they're supposed to be professionals running the place right? You would think they would know what they have. Lemme say TRD PRO one more time... Your truck looks badass though.

OP, this is the question to answer. Pro will have a button to the left of the steering wheel that says "RR DIFF LOCK"

If he got a great deal on a PRO, then that means he got an average deal on a TRD sport!

doubt it.... pros were going for 5k over msrp around here.....

OP if you paid for a pro, and it was listed as a pro, thats 100% false advertising... like stated the PRO never came in silver in the 2nd gens.

    Is it even 4x4?

I'd look at the paperwork to see if it actually says PRO anywhere on it, and if so I'd be going back in to have a talk with the dealer. Maybe with a Lawyer by my side. This is fishy.

Maybe they wanted to say TRD BRO, but the intern kid screwed up the ad.

    Nice looking truck either way.

Did you really buy this truck or are we being trolled? Back in September you were asking the same questions regarding the exact truck you 'bought' and everyone chimed in saying it wasnt a pro. So either you are playing us or you are playing yourself. Which one is it?
