Leasing mine, When it's up they get it back with the same stuff that came with it. No more and no less. I'm glad I leased it. Someone else will be stuck with the POS!

which one, the @mesojdm coin keeper insert, or the Ka-Bar shift knob (both are sweet imo!)

Both!!! The chrome bezel just snaps to the button of the stock shift knob and then the knob screws off

On the manual you unlock the chrome bezel and unscrew the knob. Not sure how to do the auto.

    A few minor things...
I'll only upgrade when the stock part wears out. I just rolled over 40k on my 2016 TRD sport so nothing has gone wrong yet!

The only things I modified were HID with projectors, XB LED fog lights, and a few little cosmetic things like rain deflectors and a TRD pro grill.

Later on I will upgrade the suspension (not lifting much, if at all) when the stock wears out, brakes will be upgraded too, but cost will remain similar to stock.

These pics were from when I picked it up at the dealer.

    Funny! LOL

I picked up a bed mat, ordered seat covers and my brother thinks he has some door sill protectors. My 2008 had no paint left on a good portion of the sills. I want to remedy/prevent that on this truck best I can.

As a 58-year old healthcare executive who uses my 2016 DCSB TRD Sport as a daily driver, I think the only modification I have done is buy the bed mat. This may very well be the last car I buy, and I tend to think of cars as an appliance: gets me from point A to point B in a reliable fashion. I save the tweaking and customizations for my recreational vehicles: my bicycles and the motorcycle.

Tint, De-badge, Chinese pro grill. plasti dip rear bumper, Painted Exhaust with high heat black for now. When my warranty is up I'm thinking I need NOS, and a short shifter to decrease the lag time when I shift from N to D. I also want Chrome Cast hooked up but only for my gauge cluster display. And, if anybody has the link to the DIY for constant battery terminal 12v mod please send it

I don't plan on doing any major mods, just little things. I may eventually change the wheels, but not until the stock tires are worn out.

All my money goes towards bikes so I hope to buy a TRD Pro and just keep it stock. For a while.

The plastic bumpers are the only thing I have a problem with.

Even the 1st gen Tacomas had metal bumpers front and rear.

So replacing them with steel bumpers on the 3rd gens could be considered a mod.

Same here. Just small mods, more for convenience like front and bed cameras. Those to prevent front end damage when parking, and watching my loads in the bed.
Racks, to carry lumber and paddle board.
Painting the break caliper and drum to prevent rust.
Hood deflector and Mud flaps to prevent chips,
Hard wired USB adapter to charge multiple devices.
Running boards so my wife can climb in.
Pop n Lock which everyone should have.

All small stuff but necessary conveniences.

I bought the pro because I liked it just how it is, without mods. It’s gonna stay stock. I plasti dipped the doorhandles for contrast looks and scratch protection. That’s it. Maybe add a few other things later, but absolutely nothing that requires cutting, drilling, etc. so it can always be returned to stock if needed. I’ve got too many other things going on, and have the mindset of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.
