He's excessively and gleefully wasteful. Like a petulant child who has no concept of the value of things.

Entertainment, you either like it or you don't. Some people make lot's of money of making compilations of other ppls videos of them getting hurt, this guy is just destroying cars... I'd rather watch him than most tv shows tbh...

I am pretty sure he knows the value of things.

Just hating on guys who have more money, and have fun with it. Lots of sour faces come out.:annoyed:

Making money just breaking stuff. Sounds like rewarding a kid for breaking his toys by buying him more.

If he can make money doing this. Fine for him. But I'm not going to spend my time watching someone else break stuff. I've got more Important things to do with my time. Like working in my Tacoma.

I love seeing people succeed, and I enjoy watching folks use expensive things I can't afford all the time. But it's very hard to watch someone intentionally destroy things that other people work very hard for or maybe could never afford.

god forbid some of you guys watch The Grand Tour on Amazon, some of the supercars they destroy on there makes Top Gear look like practice.

I guess it's different when rich old guys are doing it with the backing of Jeff Bezos/Amazon, versus rich 20 something year olds.

edit - or maybe it's the old guys' British accents that makes it OK. A British accent can help you get away with a lot.

Don't we all spend a shit ton of money on our trucks only to take them out on a trail and tear them up (on accident or otherwise)? Seems like a double standard to be upset at a young man for intentionally damaging vehicles for fun. Plus, he's making money doing it... seems like we have some jelly folks in here. I would love to get paid to destroy shit. Right now, I have to pay to destroy my own shit.

It's hard watching a young guy torch what would be some people's entire 401k for laughs multiple times a week, but good on him for being able to constantly pull it off.

Something tells me it's not as easy as he makes it look in the videos. He's mentioned in videos how he occasionally has to hit up banks to finance his antics and frankly it seems like a lot of background work goes into his content.

The guys a hustler for sure.

I believe it. Its definitely not the kind of thing I'd want to do but I don't deny the work that goes into it that everyone doesn't see on camera.

In all honesty, rather than criticizing him or anyone else for making money destroying things other's could only dream of affording, maybe we should be talking about why so many people love to see that kind of stuff in the first place lol. Guys like him are just a product of modern day society, and capitalizing on it. Can't hate a guy for that.

Well, I guess you could but it's probably just going to give him more views/$$$ like this thread already has.

Thing I liked about the Hilux series is showing how rugged and tough they are. The sad part was that it was a gem of a truck.
Top Gear on the other hand destroyed a well used old truck, so to me it wasn't as cringy.

Doesn't take much intelligence to destroy a vehicle.

All you gotta do is run into a curb at high speed.

    Let’s Do Some Calculation
According to Influencer Marketing Hub, a YouTuber gets $3 – $5 per thousand video views or an average of $18 per thousand ad views ($0.018 per ad-view). Long videos have potential for multiple ads. Since most of WhistlinDiesel’s videos are over 10 minutes, he incorporates multiple ads. Monetized ad views usually tend to make up 40-80% of the total views.

According to SocialBlade, WhistlinDiesel’s youtube channel receives around 20 million views a month. Taking all the above factors into consideration, WhistlinDiesel is estimated to earn an average of $0.018 (per ad-view) x 20,000,000 (views per month) x 60% (average monetized ad views) = $2,16,000 per month which amounts to $2.6 million per year, as of 2021. This should give him a gross net worth of $1.8 million. This is not surprising considering the amount of money he spends on expensive vehicles. However, since each of WhistlinDiesel’s video has multiple ads, video sponsors and sells merchandise from website, his net worth can be even more, but not less
