Finally scooped up a General Lee..2013, so the Walmart sort but I'm happy with it and the price was right. Need to build it now to my liking..

B2020C1F-3774-4181-B55F-10180E8B05B4.jpg The transition from Stingray. Tuff 1 on the rear, and Tuff 2 up front. The main trouble we had was with the gooseneck. Stockers couldn’t take the jumps. Screech! And your bars slid forward. The Tuf-Neck solved that. Diamond frames, fluted seat posts, and anodized everything came to us soon after.

The OP’s Mongoose is kickass, by the way. Redline, Kuwahara, and Mongoose - those were the bikes we wanted.

Found this old pic from USA BMX website. Jumping the water jump at the Nationals in Fredericksburg, Maryland circa 1996. My Dad always said I would win more races if I didn’t jump so much. All the other 16 experts were too scared of the water jump. This was my first race back after 3 years of no racing when my Dad moved us from SoCal to Delaware. Moving to Delaware pretty much ended my BMX career. :pout:

Back in the 70's we would cut off the forks off a huffy, pull the front wheel off a sting ray, hammer the tube style forks onto the flat stingray forks to make a chopper.
Found this newer bike at a swap meet this last summer and now have all sorts of mods in mind for it! Already put some old 8"tall x 21"wide BMX bars on it(would like to go with even taller/narrower bars if I can find some).

^^^I remember we would take the ape hanger handlebars and bend them together to get a real chopper look. That's a pretty cool project!

I've had this Hutch Trick Star at the house for a few months. Belongs to a friend & been going thru it, cause he'll be riding it, not just a wall hanger.

I'm leaning towards a 29" Big Ripper. It's a 7 speed. Couple years back I bought a Skyway 24" with tuff wheels but forgot what a bitch a one speed bike can be when you live in the hills...thumbnail_IMG_0654.jpg
