Here is my contribution, I believe it is a 1980-81 Cook Brothers. Only the handgrips and the seat are not factory.

Yeah I trust no one and keep everything in the garage locked. I have 4 motorcycles and they are chained together. If you steal one you have to steal them all.

I had that lock on my 86 Schwinn when it got stolen in 1990, I'd still love to know how they defeated the damn thing..wasn't like people had battery powered tools in those days

Hutch Trick Star. Another garage build, for a friend. Laced up some new spokes & nipples on these Peregrines. And he had a box full of parts to throw on the frame & fork. Came out nice.

He's taking it to Texas tomorrow for some big SE event.

Yikes, I don't remember if mine had that exposed piece. I would have bought the lock in 1986 and it was stolen in 1990. Nothing left behind as a clue or such.

was it just on the bike itself or locked to something big? if it was just the bike/wheel, they probably carried the whole bike out still locked.
or they took the lock afterwards so as to not leave fingerprint evidence.

The older krypto u-locks were just as susceptible to the bic pen up until the mid 90s i think

Finally finished uploading all my stuff earlier this evening. Not old school, but... definitely worth a watch.

i think you can also freeze it with a can of compressed air and smash ot with a hammer. i haven't tried either
method, but i had an interst in picking locks since back when i was in grade school recess detention, i bent 2 paperclips and picked open the locking cover to thermostat and reset the AC to blow colder in the classroom.

Broken collarbone. We had to cancel a trip to Austin because of that.

Locked to a pole cemented in the ground as part of an overhang, so no way it was lifted up and over. I was/am always very fastidious about security. Always wondered how they did it, since it wasn't like people had battery powered tools then.
