You could always put a stem that pushes out the bars a bit and look for some tall bars.

I was a Factory guy out of SoCal back in the 80's. My home track was the San Bernardino YMCA.
Lucky for me my age group was stacked with fast dudes. Brian Lopes & Jeremy McGrath to name a few.
SoCal was the place to be if you wanted to race against the best.

SoCal really was the place. Whenever I'm looking for parts they usually ship from California.

I found my old team Mongoose from around "80 under my Mother's house. I have it out in the shed and have thought about refurbishing it but IDK if the finishes can be saved. IDK if any value to it but it is my past lots of grass mowing was done to buy that. I built it piece by piece one component at a time.

    My top 3
    1. 85 or 86 green Dyno compe. It was the 1st freestyle bike I wanted.
    2. Early 80's GT Pro. I have a few in the project stage but only keeping one
    3. Top tier race bike. JMC, Profile, Patterson, Hutch etc...

My old riding buddy has a blue anodized Race Inc. with "tear drop" bars. I'd take it!

Nice. All good choices. JMC were awesome. Cook Bro’s as well. I actually almost got a Patterson once, before I got the Profile frame. It sold just before I could scrape up the dough. I almost had my hands on a Vector as well.

They refer to this era as “mid school”. I burned through four mongooses including a 97 DMC (the Dennis McCoy signature model which I still have the frame) and one gt. After my second broken collar bone/torn acl and fractured femur I was never the same. I built this after that around 2004 but never rode it much. Eastern Hercules, s&m redneck, profile cranks and sprocket, Hoffman bars, dia Compe 990 etc. This thing is ridiculously heavy. I made the color for it at work (still at same job after all these years). My midlife crisis would consist of getting one of the new lightweight bikes and breaking my neck at a skatepark
